8 香港海洋公園保育基金 2008 至 2009 年度報告保育工作實在刻不容緩 , 以下是保育基金資助的其中五項研究。 The following five projects highlight our work during the year, and underscore the urgent need for diverse conservation efforts in the region.
黑嘴端鳳頭燕鷗 Chinese Crested-Tern (Sterna bernsteini) 繁殖地僅為中國的浙江及福建省 The only breeding sites: Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces, China 野外數量 : 少於 50 wild population: < 50 中國 China • 保育狀況 : 極度瀕危 • 主要威脅 : 人類採集鳥蛋 • Conservation status: critically endangered • Major threats: human collection of eggs © Fujian Bird Watching Society/Chen Shuihua 黑嘴端鳳頭燕鷗自 1937 年在山東省最後一次發現後 , 數十年間一直被認為已經絕種 , 直至 2000 年才再次發現四對達繁殖年齡的燕鷗 , 保育基金呼籲各方同心合力啟動緊急救援工作。 Last seen in 1937 in Shandong, this critically endangered bird was believed to be extinct. Four breeding pairs were discovered in 2000.
