現 時 大 約 有 八 個 種 群 的 中 華 白 海
豚 在 中 國 沿 海 水 域 棲 息 , 當 中 最
大 的 一 個 種 群 在 珠 江 口 水 域 出
沒 。 為 了 深 入 了 解 各 海 豚 種 群 的
狀 況 及 棲 息 地 隔 離 的 情 況 , 保 育
基 金 撥 款 就 著 牠 們 的 數 量 、 結
構 、 基 因 多 樣 性 和 環 境 污 染 水 平
持 續 進 行 研 究 , 並 正 在 策 劃 就 保
育 亞 洲 區 內 不 同 種 群 白 海 豚 的 長
遠 計 劃 。
Approximately eight populations
of Chinese white dolphins exist
in Chinese coastal waters, of
which the largest population is in
the Pearl River Estuary. To better
understand each population’s status
and isolation, the Foundation funds
ongoing research into their size,
structure and genetic diversity, as
well as ambient pollution levels.
A long-term effort to protect this
flagship species on a regional scale
is being planned.

台 灣 海 峽 東 部 的 中 華 海 豚 屬 隔 離 種 群 , 只 剩 餘
少 於 100 條 , 在 2008 年 被 列 入 世 界 自 然 保 護 聯
盟 《 瀕 危 物 種 紅 色 名 錄 》 之 極 度 瀕 危 級 別 。
This isolated population of less than 100 in the
Eastern Taiwan Strait was listed as critically
endangered in the IUCN Red List in 2008.
測 量 在 珠 江 河 口 種 群 的 基 因 多 樣 性 , 以 及 識 別
種 群 內 部 和 種 群 間 的 基 因 分 化 , 有 助 了 解 其 棲
息 地 範 圍 。
Measuring the genetic diversity of the Pearl River
Estuary population, and identifying both interand
intra-population genetic differentiations,
helps us define population boundaries.
保 育 基 金 自 2006 年 起 與 香 港 漁 農 自 然 護 理 署 合
作 , 跟 進 香 港 水 域 擱 淺 鯨 豚 個 案 , 工 作 包 括 採
集 海 豚 皮 下 脂 肪 樣 本 , 以 化 驗 重 金 屬 含 量 。
OPCFHK staff collects blubber sample from
a dead dolphin in Hong Kong to test heavy
metal contamination. This is part of the dolphin
stranding collaboration with the Agriculture,
Fisheries and Conservation Department, Hong
Kong SAR began in 2006.
