Assoc. Prof. Dr. Carmen Hanganu – “Gr. T. Popa” University, Iasi
Professional and scientific experience: associate professor and chief of
Community Dentistry Department, University of Medicine and Pharmacy
“Gr. T. Popa” Iasi, Romania. She is a diplomate of University of Bergen,
Norway – Master of Science in Dentistry and of University of Washington,
Seattle, USA – Summer Institute of Clinical Dental Research Methods.
She is responsible for teaching community dentistry to both
undergraduate and postgraduate students at UMF “Gr. T. Popa” Iasi and
she is tutor for the master program in Dental Public Health. Her main research interests
are in the fields of oral biofilms and dental plaque, health promotion, behavioural change,
quality of life related dentistry, preventive dentistry. She is the director of many research
projects, and has published manuscripts, textbook chapters, and abstracts and has
lectured extensively in the area of preventive and community dentistry.
