Sacrum <strong>Fracture</strong><br />
Approach:<br />
A Posterior <strong>Pelvic</strong> Ring surgical<br />
approach allows an ORIF of Sacrum<br />
<strong>Fracture</strong>s.<br />
Fixation:<br />
• A sacrum fracture is fixed by<br />
placing two 6.5 or 8.0mm Asnis III<br />
cannulated lag screws (preferably<br />
16mm thread). Alternatively a 6.5mm<br />
cancellous screw is placed into the S1<br />
or S2 vertebral bodies through the<br />
lateral iliac wing.<br />
Reduction/Fixation through the Posterior <strong>Pelvic</strong> Ring Surgical Approach.<br />
