Operative Technique
Note:
If very hard bone is encountered,
it may be necessary to alternate
between using the cannulated
rasp and the intramedullary
reamer (Ref XFR003001;
Maximum speed limit of the
centromedullar reamer: 100
000 min- 1 ) or guide wire (Ref
XVIPR02001) in order to
successfully create the housing.
It is advisable to take an X-Ray
to check the progress of the rasp.
Fitting an XS stem
For an XS-sized stem (usually the 5th
digital ray) the housing is prepared
directly using the XS proximal rasp
(Ref XRP006001).
Withdraw the wire, then rasp using
the proximal progressive rasp
(Ref XRP007001) until successfully
obtaining a properly adapted seat.
