TECHNICAL SPECIFACATION : Name Of Work ;- Providing and Laying Interlocking Paver Block for Central Verge from Pakvan char Rasta to Mansi Circle, Judges Road in Bodakdev Ward, New West Zone Item No.1 Box cutting the road surface in all sorts of soil, murrum to proper slope and camber for making a base for road work incl. Removing the excavated stuff and depositing on the road side as directed up to 50 mt. Lead Any soil which generally yields to the application of pickaxes and shovels, spades, rakes or any such ordinary excavating implement or organic soil, gravel, silt, sand turf loam, clay, peat etc. falls under this category. For materials and workmanship for earthwork and excavation, relevant specification IS: 3764 & IS 1200 (Part I) shall be followed. To protect persons from injury and to avoid damage to property, adequate barricades, construction signs, red lanterns and guards as required shall be placed and maintained during the progress of the construction work and until it is safe for the traffic to use the roadways. The relevant Indian standards and the rules and regulations of local authorities in regards to safety provisions shall be observed. The depth of the excavation shall be as required. The site shall be cleared and all obstructions, loose stones, materials and rubbish of all kind, bush; wood and all type trees shall be removed, as directed. The materials so obtained shall be the property of AMC and shall be conveyed and stacked as directed, within 50-m. lead. The roots of the trees coming in the sides of the trenches shall be cut and coated with hot Bitumen. All types of trees, woods etc. which requires prior permission of Govt./ Forest Authority / Municipal Commissioner, before cutting shall be cut after obtaining such permission from them. The rate of site clearance is deemed to be included in the rate of earthwork. The excavation shall be carried out in true line and level and having width and depth, as shown in the drawings or as directed. The Contractor shall do the necessary shoring and strutting or shall provide necessary slopes to a safe angle or steps, as required or directed, at his own cost. No extra payment shall be made for such precautionary measures, taken. The bottom of the excavated area shall be leveled both longitudinally and transversely, as directed, by removing excess soil and watering, as required. No earth filling will be allowed for bringing it to level, if by mistake or any other reason, excavation is made deeper or wider than shown on the drawings or as directed. The extra depth or width shall be made up with sand filling, as specified for the bottom level of the subsequent finishing at the cost of the Contractor or as directed by Engineer-In-Charge. The Contractor shall at his own expense and without extra charge make provision of supporting all utility services, lighting the excavated areas, separating and stacking serviceable materials neatly, shoring, timbering, strutting, bailing out water either sub-soil or rainwater, including pumping at any stage of the work. Excavated areas shall be kept free of water while masonry or concrete or relevant base works are in progress and till the Engineer-in-charge considers it necessary. Contractor shall have to take levels before and after excavation. Contractor shall have to provide level and leveling staff and shall take levels with his own engineers in presence of AMC staff. Measurement shall be given by level results. Disposal of the Excavated Stuff: The excavated stuff of the selected type shall be used in backfilling the excavated areas wherever required in layers, including ramming and watering, ensuring proper compaction etc. complete up to lead of 50mt. The Contractor shall remove the balance of the excavated quantity from the site of work, to a place, as directed by engineer in charge. The lead is the shortest practical route and not necessarily the route actually taken. The decision of Engineer-In-charge shall be final in this regard. The measurement of excavation of excavated area shall be made according to the sections shown on the drawing or as per sections given by the Engineer-incharge. The rate shall include for clearing the site, surface dressing, and making layout for road. The rate shall be for a unit of one Cubic meter.
Item No. 2 P/L interlocking rubber Moulded paver blocks of high density 60 mm thick M-35 grade gray / colour as per instruction for footpath, parking, area, service lane and other areas as mentioned in the drawing. Rate includes excavation, refilling with compaction up to 30cm and removal and carting of the same. With 25mm to 40 mm sand bedding. The metalling shall be done as per the instruction and it shall be paid in relevant item. The work of the paving blocks shall be executed in line and level. It should be laid in such a way that the no cutting of the paver block is required. Paver blocks shall be compacted with use of Flat vibrator and shall be re- laid if necessary.shape design given by engg.in.charge Providing and fixing of interlocking cement concrete pavers cement concrete pavers blocks 60 mm thick for footpath , manufactured by "super" ,"ALTO or equivalent as approved by AMC and manufactured with vibro compacting & rubber moulds, and steam cured with long lasting guaranteed color and pattern as per architects' choice top surface should be anti skid. in various color U V stabilized Compressive strength of minimum 350 kg/cm2 water absorption should not be more than 7% in line and level complete. as per design in different color combination compacted by using surface vibrator etc. complete detail as per instruction of eng in charge Material The interlocking paver should be as per approved sample which are kept at office of Ahmedabad municipal corporation. The interlocking pavers should be made out of IS quality Portland cement, fine quality sand and aggregates of 4.5 mm and smaller size, 60mm overall thickness. The pavers should be reflective with uv stabilized colour anti glare and anti skid groove .All the ingredient of paver should meet the relevant IS codes. The sand used for the paver should be finer than the sand used for bedding. Workmanship The entire work to be carried out as per the drawings and design and in the pattern as given by architect. The workmanship is required to be of excellent quality and the paver blocks should be manufactured in automatic plants using weigh batching and hydraulic compaction. The mould for manufacturing the pavers should be of hard steel and should be manufactured in single layer only. The vertical surfaces should be perpendicular to the base and this also should be retained when kept for drying. The chamfers are to be of uniform quality. The pavers should have uniform interlocking space of 2 to 3 mm for proper compacted sand filling after the vibration on the paver surface. The paver should have the following Eng. Properties when tested as per IS2185. Crushing strength 350 kg per cm2 or as per architect’s requirement. Water absorption 7 % max. The pavers have to be steam cured to attain min 90 % of crushing strength after one week of manufacturing. However, the pavers should be able to possess crushing strength of 350 kg per cm2 or as per architect’s requirement. The pavers are to be laid as per the slope by the experienced workman by using compaction of sand by vibration. the pavers used at the edge of curbing should be cut by hydraulic splitting keeping verticality intact. The contractors should prepare the base by minimum 10 cms thick sand bed to attain after compaction. The sand should not be compacted and only after the pavers are laid the compaction by vibration should be done. The jointing sand should be deposited all over the pavers to obtain suitable uniform joints. Payment and Mode of measurement The complete finished job will be measured and the unit of measurement will be in square meters. The payment should be made per square meter. Including sand and blocks , vibrating, finishing ,testing of complete item. Item No. 3 Supplying and fixing M-20 grade Kerb Stone & top slab Fixing For Central Verge Cost of central block having 300 mm x thick. 200mm and height 380 mm using black trap aggregate of Sevaliya/Timba or quivalent quality 20 mm. nominal size for pre cast reasonably exposed finish/ formwork , mould with well equiped with vibratory system for kerb stones & top slab of approved design including curing, etc. complete, including the cost of formwork etc. complete. The rate shall also include for cutting asphalt erecting and fixing the kerbs in position with necessary equipments and materials. The rate shall also include filling the sand between the gap and flush pointing in CM (1:3) for all joints of the kerb stones & top slab. Filling of zari alone the sides of the kerb stone fixed prepared with Bituminous concrete mixed in proper position as dire by Engineer in change to form a portable mixture. The rate is for fixing kerbstone on both sides. Gravel or such type of materials shall not be allowed for production.
