John Vigliante Awarded
Certified Funeral Service Professional
John Vigliante
John H. Vigliante, who owns
the Branch Funeral Home in
Smithtown with his brother Paul
and father Henry, is having a very
good year. First he was named for
the 40 Under 40 Award by Long
Island Business News, an honor
given to only the most exceptional
business leaders in the community
(under 40 years old), and now
this… Vigliante has become the
only funeral home owner on Long
Island to receive the prestigious
designation of Certified Funeral
Service Professional.
Vigliante achieved this by putting
in the time and the hard
work. He dedicated over 180
hours (well above the state board
requirement) towards getting this
certification.
There was the academic aspect,
where he attended multiple advanced-level
classes and put in
long hours of study; the public
service aspect, by generously offering
his time and energy to civic
and church organizations and
then there was the professional aspect;
where he attended numerous
seminars covering a huge
range of topics on every area of
his profession.
Vigliante is already known for
being an outstanding community
leader. He is a member of the
Smithtown Sunrise Rotary Club,
the Public Relations Director for
the Senior Resource Alliance and
Chancellor for the Knights of
Columbus Holy Mother Mary
Council, a Vice President of the
Sons of Italy St. Thomas Aquinas
Lodge in Hauppauge and an
usher at Saint Patrick’s Catholic
Church in Smithtown. He is also
a Committeeman in District #2,
Town of Smithtown.
Plus, he is an innovative funeral
director and excellent businessman.
Over the last year, while
managing the Branch Funeral
Home, Vigliante introduced
ground-breaking green funerals
and webcasting.
Through this certification program,
offered by the Academy of
Professional Funeral Service Practice
(APFSP), Vigliante has gained
a deeper and wider base of
knowledge in his field and has
gone above and beyond in proving
his commitment to his business
and his community. By
striving to get better at what he
does, he has enhanced his ability
to help the families who come to
him in their time of need.
