to comfort our community’s infirm
and ailing. Since 1906, they have
loaned hospital and recuperative
equipment free-of-charge to anyone
living in the Township of
Smithtown.
They warehouse all manner of
hospital equipment – everything
from wheelchairs to walkers to
crutches – anything the recuperating
patient might need to make
their home-care more comfortable.
You can have the equipment
you need immediately – no need
to wait for Medicare!
Lending Comforts is located at
71 Blydenburgh Avenue in Smithtown.
The Society is entirely volunteer-run
and rely completely upon
the generosity of Smithtown residents
who realize the value of
having a local organization to
whom they can go when a need
arises. Their funds come from generous
donations from friends and
supporters. Your donation is taxdeductible!
The current president,
Judith Fleming would be more
than pleased if residents would
like to volunteer.
They also raise much needed
support through their Thrift Shop
which is open on Tuesday mornings
from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. from February
26 to December 19. Your
tax-deductible donation of new or
