In 2005 I had the opportunity to purchase
my dream car, the GT3. Luckly for
me, the guy who owned it just happened to
be looking for a Speed Yellow 993 Turbo.
After a lot of negotiating we ended up swapping
cars.
What can I say about this car? It is the
ultimate 911 as far as I’m concerned. After
ten years of competing in the concours
arena, I now had a car that was built to race
so, I signed up for my first Autocross. After
the event I was hooked. The more events I
did, the more I got used to the car. I really

enjoyed my times out at Willow Springs
Raceway, where you can make use of all the
power the car has to offer. I went on to win
my class in 2006 and then again in 2007.
That year we decided on making it a two
Porsche household when I purchased a new
Cayman S. With the mid-engine layout, it is
a fantastic handling car. I am really enjoying
driving it.
In 2008 I was one of 20 engineers
selected by Qantas to train on the new
Airbus A380 aircraft. I spent most of the
year away from home in Sydney, Toulouse,
France and Hamburg, Germany. This was a
great experience as Tina and the boys came
to visit me. They had a wonderful time in
France and also got to visit Rome as well.
Qantas has taken delivery of three aircraft
Porsches lined up and ready to go
so far with 17 more to come. It is currently
operating three days a week out of LAX.
For 2009 we are looking forward to an
exciting year with OCR and also another
great tour with Autobahn Adventures. In
closing, I would like to thank my beautiful
wife and my four great kids who have
supported me and who have made all my
Porsche dreams come true.
