Renovation Grant
Under the Housing (Nj) Order 1992, the Northem
Ireland HousingExecutive may grant-aid the cost of
irnpmvm and conversion of houses, subject to
means testing. In certain circsunstances, the
Executive may alsogrant aid +r. Such grants do
not necessariiy exclude either Historic buildings
Grant or ConservationArea Gmt, which sholcld be

launched in April X998 and is supported by the
Heritage L ow Fund IHLlr). The THI focuses on
ConservationAreas aiming+% partnership with the
public, priwte and voluntary sectors-to create
exemplars of wnsmtion practice and
management. It is concernedprimarily with sdng
the long-term offhe built haitage by:
- repairing built fabric;
- restoring authentic details and materials;
seturhg the continued use of historic buildings;
hingingvacant Poorspace in historic buildings
back into use md
- facilitating a high standard of design and
rtnaterials in filling gap sites in key frontages.
