MINUTES - STATUTORY PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING - 19 JUNE 2012 6.1 ST KILDA HARBOUR CONSULTATION Purpose To consider feedback to the public exhibition of plans submitted to Council for endorsement pursuant to Condition 1 of Planning Permit 1424/2005 allowing redevelopment of the St Kilda Marina. The following speakers made a verbal submission: Peter Holland (supporter) Julie Davis (applicant) Richard Hill (applicant) Jo Connellan (on behalf of the Department of Transport) As agreed to by the Statutory Planning Committee, a summary of comments. - Spoke to assure the Committee that the government has agreed to the funding of “enabling works” – works as to be prescribed by the engineers as sleeves or piles, depending on the technical details, structures within the breakwater that will not preclude future options for the pier. - Acknowledged the letter from the City of Port Phillip Mayor to the Minister for Ports for which a formal reply is yet to be received. Stated the Minister for Ports has only recently agreed to the funding. - Expressed a clear commitment from the Department of Transport for just the “enabling works”. Stated the view on the pier is yet to be formed. AMENDMENT B The plans SK12 Rev A dated March 2012, SK13 Rev B dated April 2012 and SK14 Rev A dated March 2012 (all Job No. 31-27526) be endorsed by Council as recommended in the appended report deferred from the 17 April 2012 Statutory Planning Committee meeting. MINUTES - STATUTORY PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING - 19 JUNE 2012 2012 Statutory Planning Committee meeting, subject to the plans being modified to show construction of enabling infrastructure works providing for the long term reconstruction of the pier and salt water sea pool as shown in the St Kilda Harbour Concept Plan. The AMENDMENT lapsed due to the lack of a seconder. A vote was taken and the MOTION was CARRIED. Cr Klepner and Cr O’Connor voted against the MOTION. Page 7
