Performing arts festival 2009, week beginning 16 November 2009
The Queen Katherine School's annual Performing Arts Festival is to be held the week beginning Monday 16 November.
On Monday, 16 November all the music classes will be held. On Tuesday, 17 November the dance and drama classes
will be held. Then on Thursday, 19 November the winners from the various classes will be performing in an All Winners
concert at 7pm in the Upper School Hall, where they will be competing for trophies. Over the next two weeks all students
will be informed as to the various classes they can enter. There is everything from instrumental solo classes, group dance
classes, drama solos and stand up comedy!
e-mail addresses
If you have not let our office know your e-mail address, can you please let Mrs Henderson know the address(es) you wish
us to use. Please contact her directly on beryl.henderson@queenkatherine.org Letters such as these will then be e-mail
home rather than set with students.
Club list
Please find attached our school clubs list for 2009-10. Please encourage your child to get fully involved in the life of the
school. The more they put in the more they seem to get out?

Brass Lessons
We have the opportunity to deliver free brass lessons to a small number of students. An instrument can be provided for
free hire. Any interested students should contact Mrs West either in the Music Office, or email on
karen.west@queenkatherine.org
New Senior Choir
If any parent or friend of the school would like to join the New Senior Community Choir, we rehearse on Tuesday
lunchtimes in the Music Department from 12.45-1.15pm.
Instruments
The music department would welcome any instruments that might be available through donation or at a small cost. This
would help us greatly in our effort to provide access to music tuition for as many students as possible. Please contact
Mrs West on karen.west@queenkatherine.org
Cashless system
Thank you to parents for sending cheques in for the cashless system. Could you please ensure that the name of the
student is on the back, with their form number. Also, one cheque payment can be split over two or more students from the
same family. Using the cheque system to pay for meals for a week or more saves students from having to queue to put
money on the system manually.
Disabled Parking Bays
Our disabled parking bays are important to our parents who have children with disabilities – we are, as you know, a
designated school for students with physical and medical difficulties. Please do not take up these precious spaces.
Yours sincerely
Stephen Wilkinson
Headteacher
