Purpose<br />
The Integrity Assurance Committee<br />
is to have primary oversight of<br />
those aspects of the Board's<br />
functions which relate to race<br />
stewards, drug testing and control,<br />
licensing, handicapping and horse<br />
racing appeals.<br />
The IAC is to advise the Board on<br />
matters of integrity which arise in<br />
this area.<br />

HANDICAPPING:<br />
Mr MarkWebbey<br />
• Manager Handicapping to advise<br />

• The presence of a handicapper<br />
in a regional area has had some<br />

comment on pre-race testing,<br />
• The issue of the growth in<br />
number and variety of peptide<br />
hormone drugs becoming<br />
available and the difficulty in<br />
detecting them has been<br />
referred to the ARB.<br />
STEWARDS:<br />

• Issue of setting up a national<br />
database of information on legal<br />
proceedings has again been<br />
raised with ARB,<br />
• Upgrading of stewards towers<br />
underway,<br />
• Quality of video footage<br />
(HNWRA) following an appeal.<br />
CRC to be advised that IAC<br />
consider this unsatisfactory<br />
quality,<br />
• IAC recommend the issue of prerace<br />
testing be again raised with<br />
TRB Board,<br />
IAC supports proposal to ARB,<br />
re: raceday treatment.<br />

The <strong>Racing</strong> Industry Participants<br />
Advisory Committee (RIPAC) was<br />
established under the<br />
Thoroughbred <strong>Racing</strong> Board Act<br />
1996 as the vehicle by which<br />
industry representation is made to<br />
<strong>Racing</strong> <strong>NSW</strong> (<strong>NSW</strong> TRB).<br />

Under section 35 of the Act, the<br />
functions of RIPAC include:<br />
• Advise the TRB on industry<br />
policy and strategic direction,<br />

• Serve as a communication<br />
channel between industry<br />
stakeholders and the TRB,<br />
• Provide a forum to discuss<br />
issues of concern and make<br />
recommendations to the TRB,<br />
• Nominate members, at the<br />
request of the TRB, to serve on<br />
TRB sub-committees or working<br />
groups.<br />
