DRUG ARM Australasia · Annual Report 2005 - 2006 8 2. Corporate Governance continued PROFILES OF THE MANAGEMENT GROUP 2005-2006 Dr Dennis Young Executive Director B Bus., G. Dip. FET, MBA, D HSM, AFAIM, MAICD (see Directors’ profi les) Ms Heather Pitt Manager Corporate Services Heather Pitt commenced work in 1977 with the Queensland Temperance League which became the Drug Awareness and Relief Foundation (Australia) in 1991. Heather completed her accountancy training during her early years with the Queensland Temperance League and her accounting career with the organisation began in 1988. Heather has been the Corporate Services Manager since 2000. Mr Ray Crompton Manager National Marketing and Fundraising Ray Crompton joined DRUG ARM in October 2000 as National Marketing and Fundraising Manager and has been involved in the marketing and fundraising profession for twenty-fi ve years. Prior to commencing work with DRUG ARM Ray worked in marketing, fundraising and promotion for the Wesley Hospital. He is Past President Fundraising Institute of Queensland and an active member of Rotary. Ms Caroline Salom Director Centre for Addiction Research and Education Cert. IV TAA, Dip. Cmty Serv. Mgt, BSc Hons Caroline Salom joined DRUG ARM in 2003 as the Director, Centre for Addiction Research and Education (CARE) following her work with the Youth Off The Streets organisation in New South Wales. Caroline has had extensive experience in medical research, education, fundraising and events and volunteer management. Her original background is in research; she spent fi fteen years in medical research and new therapeutics development at the University of NSW, the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and commercial organisations including Wellcome UK and Pacifi c Biotechnology. Rev. Warren Myers Chaplain Cert. IV WTA, B Div., BA Hist., M. Div., M Th. Rev. Warren Myers has had a varied career as a minister of religion, a teacher and a social worker. He has served in churches in the United States, Jordan, New Zealand, Western Australia and Queensland and has taught at the Christian Heritage College and Westminster Theological College in Brisbane, where he serves on the Board of Governors. In more recent years Warren has worked with homeless and drug affected youth as coordinator at Goodna Youth Services. He had retired from active duties but in 2003 Warren agreed to become the National Chaplain at DRUG ARM Australasia.
DRUG ARM Australasia · Annual Report 2005 - 2006 2. Corporate Governance continued 9 Ms Bianca Moerman Manager South Australia and New South Wales BA Soc., Grad. Dip. Soc. Wk Bianca Moerman was appointed State Manager of DRUG ARM South Australia in 2001. Bianca is a member of the South Australian Network of Drug and Alcohol Service (SANDAS), fi ve Drug Action Teams and several other state committees across South Australia. Bianca was appointed as Manager of New South Wales in July 2005. In this role she oversees the staff and programs delivered in that state and visits the staff team on a regular basis. Mrs Krishna Heffernan Manager Queensland Dip. Cmty and Yth Wk, Dip. Theol., BA Visual Arts, Grad. Dip. Adult Educ., Grad. Dip. Educ., M Leadership Krishna Heffernan joined DRUG ARM as Queensland State Manager in 2003. She had come from a business consultant position which specialised in management strategies for Indigenous organisations. Her background is in the fi eld of adult education and for ten years she worked in Aboriginal education within NSW TAFE. Krishna is a qualifi ed teacher and has coordinated education programs and community projects for communities in New South Wales.
