13. MARLIN (guilty) What he must have gone through... I should have looked for more eggs. BOB You did your best. MARLIN It wasn't enough... BOB Looks like he turned out just fine, and then some. MARLIN You mean... maybe he did better without me...? Just then, Remy flips Sheldon, the sea horse kid, over his shoulder. Sheldon yelps. Bob, his father, starts forward. BOB You're okay, Sheldon. Shake it off. Marlin sees Nemo hanging back, and goes over to him. MARLIN Why don't you go play with your brother? <strong>NEMO</strong> He doesn't look like he needs my company. Just then, Remy executes a particularly snazzy kung fu move with his fins. Nemo sighs. Marlin tries to cheer him up. MARLIN Don't worry. We can't all be athletic. You're a great student. This doesn't cheer Nemo up. <strong>NEMO</strong> How do we know he really is my brother, anyway? MARLIN Are you kidding? Look at him! He could be your twin. Well... except for the fin. MARLIN Nemo keeps swimming. <strong>NEMO</strong> (under his breath) I'm sorry I ever wished for a brother, anyway... MARLIN (following) Oh, come on Nemo. Don't be that way. MARLIN (CONT'D) Nemo! You're a fish. If things had worked out differently, you would have had a hundred brothers. This is not helping. Marlin catches up to Nemo and puts his fin around him. MARLIN (CONT'D) Come on, cheer up. What day is today, huh? Nemo starts to brighten. <strong>NEMO</strong> (grinning) It's my birthday! MARLIN That's right. I don't suppose you want to have a party or anything like that...? Yes! <strong>NEMO</strong> MARLIN Good! Because everybody's coming. (hugging him) Happy birthday, Nemo.
