Community Women's<br />
Club completed<br />
their program of<br />
collecting "gently<br />
used" purses. AT<br />
the October 20th<br />
meeting over 175<br />
purses of various<br />
shapes and sizes,<br />
colors and styles,<br />
fabrics, and leathers<br />
were then donated<br />
tot he Junior League<br />
of Mobile for placement<br />
in their re-sale<br />
shop in Mobile. All<br />

profits will go to local charities in Mobile and Baldwin counties.<br />
Accepting the purses for the JLM were our guests Nonie Taul, Tracie<br />
Ray, and Maria Williams, officers in JLM. <strong>The</strong>y explained their<br />
organization's aims and purposes, ongoing programs, and coming<br />
events. This all-volunteer group has many working charities bringing<br />
benefits to women and<br />
children in both counties.<br />
<strong>The</strong>ir presentation gave<br />
many examples of how<br />
and where any "purse"<br />
funds could be used.<br />
Plans for the "market<br />
Place Auction and Bake<br />
Sale" (November 22,<br />
2011) were announced<br />
by Cookie White. This<br />
year, the event will be<br />
divided into a separate<br />
<strong>The</strong> JLM brought with them some examples bake sale and the auction<br />
for crafts. Please<br />
of clothing that might be found at their resale<br />
shop, Seconds on Sage in Mobile.<br />

Hostesses for October were Mary Thompson, Doretta Bottenus,<br />
Dottie Rankins, Kathy Meilleur, and Ann Armstrong.
