1. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
2. The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer
3. The London Amendment in 1990
4. The Copenhagen Amendment to the Montreal Protocol in 1992
5. The Montreal Amendment to the Montreal Protocol in 1997
6. The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and the Disposal entered into force on 5 th May
1992
7. Bamako Convention on the Ban of the Import into Africa and the Control of Transboundary Movement and Management of Hazardous
Wastes within Africa
8. United Nations Convention to combat Desertification
9. The Stockholm convention on persistent organic pollutants
10. The World Heritage Convention: adhered on 19 th September 1995
11. Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora: ratified on 28 th April, 1975.
12. The Conservation on Biological Diversity: ratified on 1st September, 1992.
The Government of Mauritius is also signatory to a number of International Conventions relating to Article 1 of the CBD. These include:
