8. What is it like working with tourists?
First of all the tourist book their trips in advance. A trip can be in average of 25 people. The group of tourists meet at the
sand jetty where the catamaran is waiting for them. The catamaran brings them to Ile au Cerfs. Throughout the trip at a stop
point they scuba dive then lunch on Ile aux Cerfs where the skipper entertains them with local sega music before taking the
group back to mainland late afternoon.
9. Which is the peak month/season for visits of the islets found in the bay of Mahebourg?
Neutral visit throughout the year
10. During a peak month, about how many tourists do you get per week?
25 tourists per day, around
11. And during off-seasons?
No peak seasons
12. In your view, what is the main attraction of the islets for locals? And for tourists?
“coming to Mauritius is like a dream come true for them, being in that wonderful setup; the sun, the never ending beaches,
the blue lagoons... everyone one dreams of becoming Robinson Crusoe, being on a small exotic island, without having to
worry about worldly affairs“
13. Which animals are you most likely to encounter on the islets?
No particular animals
14. Have you, or a member of your company, ever seen/come across any unusual animal? (which you don’t normally see on mainland
Mauritius)

15. How do you feel about rodents in Mauritius?
He doesn’t come across rodents
