Baldwin National
Board of Advisors
What is the NBA?
Although the National Board of Advisors has existed
for 20 years, many in the Baldwin community
know little about the NBA, the board’s purpose or
its membership, or how it can help strengthen the
Baldwin community. Let us reintroduce you to your
National Board of Advisors.
FACTS:
· The National Board of Advisors was created in
1990 to develop a strong national and international
network of Baldwin alumnae.
· The NBA is comprised of 50 to 60 members
chosen from diverse geographic locations, and
represents a cross section of ages, careers, lifestyles,
and interests.
· Members are nominated for a three-year term
and are asked to attend at least one of two NBA
meetings a year and contribute to annual giving.
· Every member serves on one of three committees:
Regional Events & Outreach
Professional Resources/Networking
Membership
· The NBA’s mission is to support Baldwin’s
commitment to be a premier educational institution
for a diverse group of young women, and to
help alumnae continue giving and growing as
educated women.
As we all know, Baldwin graduates are an impressive
group of women achieving in many different fields
and areas of expertise. We are a largely untapped
resource of advice and support. The NBA strives
to strengthen this incredible network and facilitate
connections between alumnae, Baldwin students, and
the faculty.
The NBA is here to keep the Baldwin community
connected. We welcome your ideas about how the
NBA can best help you. Please contact your class
agent, an NBA member, or Baldwin’s development
office (bforrest@baldwinschool.org) with your
suggestions at any time.
If you have been to an event outside of the Philadelphia area, chances are the NBA was involved in its planning.
With Baldwin’s development office, we have held events in New York, Washington D.C. Houston, Atlanta,
Dallas, Boston, Naples, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Cocktail parties, luncheons, museum visits, and book
clubs all help us connect Baldwin alumnae wherever they live. We are currently trying to plan many more such
events-hopefully one in your area! If you’re interested in hosting an event, or have an idea to connect alumnae
in your area, please contact Sara Scott ’96 (saralysascott@hotmail.com).
The NBA is also in the process of creating a searchable, networking database that will allow students, faculty,
and alumnae to find those with similar career goals, interests, or specific areas of expertise, strengthening our
Baldwin network. Stay tuned for more details!
