4. Evaluation 4.1. Evaluation of the test persons’ core data 17 persons took part in my study. In treatments previous to the present study I had already tested symptom-giving sacroiliac joint relaxation in pregnancy in four persons. These tests served as a basis for optimisation of the test sheet and the questionnaire. Two persons did not match the inclusion criteria, that is, no symptom-giving SIJ relaxation was identified. One person did not want to continue and dropped out of the study. The following evaluation is a result of the data of those 14 women who followed through with the study. The women’s ages range from 22 to 35; the mean age is 28.14. On the first day of the study, i.e. on the day of diagnosis, the women were in their 14 th to 29 th week of pregnancy, the median being the 19 th week. Four of the women had not given birth yet; at the same time it was also their first pregnancy. Seven of the women had already given birth to one child and it was their second pregnancy. Three women had already given birth to several children. None of the women had had a miscarriage or a stillbirth. It happened to be the three women who had had a miscarriage that dropped out. Only one woman had resorted to the help of assisted reproductive technology (in vitro fertilisation). At the outset of the study, five of the women were still working. Nine of them were already on maternity leave and did not have to go to work on a regular basis. The women’s weight gain during pregnancy was between -1 kilo and 17 kilos with a median of 5.8 kilos.
