• Brent Runyon<br />

Brent, the Executive Director <strong>of</strong> Thomasville<br />

Landmarks, Inc., received his Master <strong>of</strong> Historic<br />

Preservation degree from the University <strong>of</strong> <strong>Georgia</strong><br />

in 2005. While at UGA, he focused on community<br />

planning and affordable housing issues, and worked<br />

on several community-based design<br />

charrettes. After graduate school, he attended a<br />

summer service learning program in Ghana, West<br />

Africa, where he and five others created a heritage<br />

<strong>tourism</strong> plan to help boost the local economy. In his<br />

five years at Landmarks, Brent has led the<br />

organization through a $300,000 endowment<br />

building campaign and overseen the rehabilitation <strong>of</strong><br />

their headquarters, the 1833 Hardy Bryan<br />

House. His most recent initiatives include adding<br />

the Dewey City Historic District to the National<br />

Register <strong>of</strong> Historic Places and writing a demolition<br />

ordinance for the City <strong>of</strong> Thomasville.<br />

• Michael Jacobs<br />

Michael is the Preservation Planner/Senior Planner<br />

with the Southern <strong>Georgia</strong> Regional Commission<br />

since 1995. Previously, he worked with the Center<br />

For Low Country Studies, Tybee Island Lighthouse<br />

& Museum, and the <strong>Georgia</strong> <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Natural<br />

Resources at Wormsloe Plantation State Historic<br />

Site. In his current role Michael serves the<br />

counties <strong>of</strong> Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien,<br />

Brantley, Brooks, Charlton, Clinch, C<strong>of</strong>fee, Cook,<br />

Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Pierce, Tift, Turner<br />

and Ware<br />
