C. The Principal shall make a prompt investigation of such reports. He/she shall consider the<br />
the nature and circumstances of the act in determining a response, which may be individual (isolated<br />
instances where it is appropriate to focus on the individuals committing the acts) or institutional (i.e.<br />
classroom level, grade level, school level)<br />
D. Individual acts of bullying, harassment and/or intimidation including technological threats shall be<br />
subject to student discipline referrals and to disciplinary action for offenses related to staff/student<br />
safety and well being. (see section II B above).<br />
E. Institutional acts including technological threats shall also be subject to student discipline referrals and<br />
to offenses related to staff/student safety and well being, but may also involve other actions and<br />
activities such as:<br />
1. <strong>School</strong> and/or community surveys,<br />
2. Mailings,<br />
3. Focus groups,<br />
4. Adoption of research-based anti-bullying program models,<br />
5. Training for certified and non-certified staff;<br />
6. Participation of parents and other community members and organizations,<br />
7. Small or large group presentations,<br />
8. Involvement of law enforcement officials,<br />
9. Any other actions and activities deemed appropriate by the Board of Education.<br />
F. The Board of Education shall not tolerate an act of reprisal or retaliation for reporting such incidents,<br />
nor will the Board tolerate false accusations of such acts.
