5.4 USING VIDEO IN THE CLASSROOM
The experience with the use of hypermedia in schools shows how the process of
realising a video and the publishing of it can be even more important than the final
product itself. Students can execute several different tasks: analyse the film, catch the
right moment to enrich the video with a link, look for the additional contents and/or
create them, create a community site around to collect feedback etc.

5.5 VIDEO BLOGGING: VLOGGING
In 1997, the first weblog appeared on the Internet. Since then, the creation of a
personal Blog became easier. Nowadays, many Internet Service Providers provide free
blog hosting. That together with the ease with which users can create their won blogs,
has lead to an explosion of the number of blogs.
Within the educational system, blogs are relatively new and so far mainly used for
courses in which ‘reflecting’ plays an important role in course objectives.
A next step in this development is the addition of video to a Blog, to create a Video Blog
or “Vlog”. http://www.freevlog.org/index.php/category/tutorial explains how to start a vlog. The
number of Vlogs is increasing rapidly.
