facilities and there is a bathroom and shower room available to patients. Two
of the bedrooms are located next to the nurse's station and are described as
assessment rooms.
The ward also contains a kitchen, a clinical room, sluice room, office and a
number of storage areas for linen etc.
At the time of the inspection there were nine patients being cared for on the
ward. There were three detained patients and several patients had been in
the hospital for a number of years and were awaiting community resettlement.
Inspectors were advised that regular meetings take place between hospital
senior management staff, medical staff and community teams to discuss the
resettlement needs of specific patients.
Patients have access to a consultant psychiatrist, psychologist and most
patients attend the Berryburn Centre which provides day time activities and is
within the Lakeview site.
