It is recommended that the advocate attends the patients‟ meet<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

It is recommended that staff <strong>and</strong> patients have an awareness <strong>of</strong> the role <strong>of</strong> the<br />

advocate <strong>and</strong> the availability <strong>of</strong> advocacy services at the po<strong>in</strong>t <strong>of</strong> admission <strong>and</strong> that<br />

this is documented <strong>in</strong> the patients‟ notes.<br />

It was recommended that the advocate should attend the patients' meet<strong>in</strong>gs to<br />

promote patient knowledge <strong>and</strong> underst<strong>and</strong><strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> the service <strong>and</strong> proactively<br />

engage with the patients.<br />

It is recommended that the Patient Advocate cont<strong>in</strong>ues to attend the patients<br />

meet<strong>in</strong>g on a regular basis.<br />

It is recommended that the Patient Advocate is part <strong>of</strong> a communication strategy to<br />

<strong>in</strong>form relatives <strong>and</strong> patients <strong>of</strong> any developments regard<strong>in</strong>g a reassignment or<br />

closure <strong>of</strong> Ward 28 <strong>in</strong> respect <strong>of</strong> various resettlement options available to the<br />

patient.<br />

It is recommended that the Patient Advocate will attend the ward by request <strong>and</strong> on<br />

a regular basis.<br />

It is recommended that the Patient Advocate is part <strong>of</strong> a communication strategy to<br />

<strong>in</strong>form relatives <strong>and</strong> patients <strong>of</strong> any developments regard<strong>in</strong>g Ward 29, <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />

respect <strong>of</strong> the various re-settlement options available to the patient.<br />
