The Island Landscape is a landmark series that follows in the footsteps of
Ireland’s greatest botanist Robert Lloyd Praeger, discovering the true makeup
of our distinct and unique plant life. Presenter Derek Mooney embarks
on an epic journey around Ireland and Europe piecing together the jigsaw
of clues to tell for the first time, the epic story of our Landscape and how it
came to be, since the last Ice Age. The story is ongoing and ever changing
with new scientific questions being asked and answered all the time.

A Grand Experience charts a journey by three artists - writer Eugene O’Brien,
musician Wayne Brennan and photographer Veronica Nicholson - along
Ireland’s Grand Canal on board an original 68 metre Grand Canal barge. As
they travel through the midlands, they rediscover a lost Ireland, a deep sense
of history and heritage and a community that, in spite of the worst ravages
of the recession, is thriving and embracing its own uniqueness and talent.
Their challenge – to create an artistic response to the people and places
they encounter on their journey. This is a visually stunning travelogue which
brings viewers on a timeless journey through an unspoilt and enduring part
of Ireland.
