glaoch — the president’s call 1 x 52’ hell’s kitchen to hollywood 1 x 52’
Called “Glaoch”, the Irish word for “Calling” this is the first event of its kind. It
is a gathering of the pre-eminent artists and entertainers in the world of Irish
music and arts, each of whom is responding to the President’s invitation to
come to his home for a celebration of the best of what Irish culture has to
offer. Artists participating include Hollywood actor, Gabriel Byrne, U2 Frontman,
Bono, Poet, Seamus Heaney, Singer/Songwriters, Lisa Hannigan, Glen Hansard,
Imelda May and Christy Moore, and international group, The Script.

This film goes on an epic journey across the USA to discover how Irish-
American screen legends, both in front of and behind the camera, shaped
Hollywood’s golden era. From John Ford and James Cagney to George
Clooney and Ben Affleck, the film reveals how their gift for storytelling and
performance placed an immigrant people at the heart of the American dream
and forged a cultural legacy that endures still to this day.
