<strong>Gokul</strong> <strong>Gram</strong> <strong>Yojana</strong><br />
• A prestigious scheme <strong>of</strong> the Government <strong>of</strong> Gujarat.<br />
This scheme was started in 1995.<br />
• To Support this scheme Government <strong>of</strong> Gujarat<br />
announced the incentive policy stating that an industrial<br />
undertaking setting up an industrial unit in an<br />
industrially backward are with the project cost <strong>of</strong> more<br />
than Rs. 10 crores and eligible to avail sales tax<br />
incentives shall have to contribute 2% <strong>of</strong> sales tax<br />
incentives availed <strong>of</strong> in case <strong>of</strong> exemption, and 3% <strong>of</strong><br />
deferred amount in case <strong>of</strong> sales tax deferment.
GGY BHANDOL<br />
• Reliance availed the tax incentives as per Gujarat<br />
Governments industrial policy and donated Rs. 51.00<br />
lakhs to this bhandol.
Work in Nut Shell<br />
Government <strong>of</strong> Gujarat in coordination with Reliance has<br />
undertaken to provide basic rural infrastructure in about<br />
3031 villages <strong>of</strong> 158 talukas covering 23 districts <strong>of</strong><br />
Gujarat.<br />
As on 30 th September, 2004; 416 village roads, 1305<br />
Community halls, 484 Panchayat <strong>of</strong>fices and 225<br />
Aanganwadis totaling to 2430 were constructed and<br />
handed over to respective panchayats at a cost <strong>of</strong> Rs.<br />
104.65 crores.
Implementation Modus Operandi<br />
• Reliance <strong>Rural</strong> <strong>Development</strong> Trust in coordination with<br />
respective District <strong>Rural</strong> <strong>Development</strong> Agency will<br />
implement GGY works with effect from 07/03/2001 –<br />
Gujarat State Government resolution dated 22/10/2002
Implementation Modus Operandi<br />
• District Level Implementation committee consisting <strong>of</strong> 3<br />
members each from Government and Reliance is<br />
formed. District Collector is the Chairman and Director<br />
DRDA is the secretary <strong>of</strong> the committee.
Implementation Modus Operandi<br />
• Funds deposited by Reliance Industries Ltd., in GGY<br />
Bhandol will be allocated to different districts by<br />
Secretary, <strong>Rural</strong> <strong>Development</strong> Department, Government<br />
<strong>of</strong> Gujarat.

• Village – wise comprehensive survey by obtaining<br />
Tharav and Rojkam from respective panchayat is carried<br />
out by RRDT in coordination with respective DRDA.

• A Master plan is prepared showing village wise facilities<br />
to be taken up along with proposed budget.

• Estimates are prepared as per respective district SOR<br />
based on the drawings, specifications and approval by<br />
the Executive Engineer – Government Order dated<br />
21/07/2003.

• Required Funds are approved by the committee and<br />
transferred to RRDT for execution <strong>of</strong> works.

• Monthly progress report showing village wise, facility<br />
wise status to respective districts with a copy to<br />
Commissioner, <strong>Rural</strong> <strong>Development</strong> department,<br />
Government <strong>of</strong> Gujarat.

• The district level implementation committee reviews the<br />
progress <strong>of</strong> GGY works periodically.

• Village – wise comprehensive survey by obtaining<br />
Tharav and Rojkam from respective panchayat is carried<br />
out by RRDT in coordination with respective DRDA.

• The completed works are handed over to respective<br />
<strong>Gram</strong> Panchayat and a hand over certificate is obtained<br />
from panchayat.

• Village wise, facility wise completion record plan along<br />
with expenditure statement is submitted to respective<br />
DRDA.
