Description
Zehnder Charleston exchange is a sectional, steel column radiator;
the radiator collectors are made of 1.5 mm thick steel sheet, tube diameter
– 25 mm, wall thickness – 1.25 mm; individual sections 46
mm long are welded to form a complete radiator; the radiator is primed,
coated with powder enamel of RAL 9016 colour, and are improved
following the requirements of DIN 55900.
With inter-axial distance suitable for exchange or cast iron radiators
The heat capacity is tested in accordance with DIN EN 442 standard.
The radiator complies with the requirements of the GUV (German Accident
Insurance). The radiator also complies with the stringent hygienic
requirements and is recommended for use in medical institutions.
The radiator is supplied in an installation-ready package; side connection
(female thread) 4 x 1 /2“;
by request:
• a desired mounting set,
• different colour;
• zinc-plated finish,
• design including a reflective cover plate,
• special shapes,
• high-pressure design (max. 18 bar)

Radiators that exceed the above stated maximum limits are delivered
in individual blocks. They shall be assembled with the use of nipples
by the installer. Suitable nipples (1“ for 2-column models and 5 /4“ for
models with 3 to 6 columns) are supplied at no charge, together with
the radiator.

Standard equipment

Standard connection codes
From 2 to 4 side connections for the supply and returns and for the
air vent and water drain, measuring 3 /8”, 1 /2”, 3 /4“ and 1“ (1“ only for radiators
with 3 to 6 columns) Radiators with 3 to 6 columns have 1 1 /4“
left-hand thread on one side and right-hand on the other; radiators
with 2 columns have the same kind 1“ threads. If connections are
made from the same side, both the supply and the returns will have
right-hand threads; with opposite-side connections, the flow has
right-hand thread and the return – left-hand. By request, the unit can
be delivered with bottom connection in the middle of the radiator, on
its front side or on the wall-facing side. Details provided on request.
