Anadolu University, during its history of over fifty years, has had multifaceted
influences not only at local and regional but also at national
and global scale. In this respect, the university has always regarded
culture and arts as an inseparable component of the institutional
identity and as important as scientific production and education, and
paid great attention to transformative power of culture and arts, adding
value to life.
Festivals are generally identified and integrated with the locations
where they are held. In this context, Eskişehir and Anadolu University
provide a venue for the “International Eskişehir Film Festival” and assume
a very important mission by reflecting the culture and identity
of the city and the University on this festival.
Anadolu University, a pioneering institution in offering the power of
arts to its students and the city, has been organizing the International
Eskişehir Film Festival for 13 years with the contribution of students,
academic staff, employees of the university and stakeholders from the
city. One of the most significant indicators of the integration of Anadolu
University with Eskişehir, the festival fosters the artistic and
cultural interaction between the university and the city, and plays
an important role in transferring our institutional sustainability and
determination to future generations.
This year, about 100 films will be displayed at the International Eskişehir
Film Festival, ranging from historical films to animation, and documentaries
to short films. Further, the Festival involves various activities including
Contribution to Cinema Awards, master classes and workshops.
I congratulate Anadolu University’s students, academic members and
other personnel, and all institutions that contribute to the festival for
