4.3.2.3 Areas of greatest disturbance<br />

The most disturbed areas within <strong>Mgambo</strong> were located on the eastern half of the reserve. These<br />

areas were grids that contained evidence of fire and grazing within each 50m transect section.<br />

Some endemic, near endemic and forest dependent vegetation was in these most disturbed grid<br />

areas; most notably, grid 26 to the far south of the reserve where Cassia abbreviata (endemic),<br />

Dombeya shupangae (near endemic) and zanthoxylum deremense (near endemic and forest<br />

dependant). (Figures 19 and 20).<br />
