Using twisted pair system technology, a mo<strong>de</strong>rn<br />
and future-proof <strong>vi<strong>de</strong>o</strong> surveillance system can<br />
be created with CCTV cameras. CAT5 / CAT6 /<br />
CAT7 cables with RJ-45 connectors play a<br />
major role here (network patch cables). Power,<br />
<strong>vi<strong>de</strong>o</strong> and RS-485 data can be transmitted<br />
over a distance of up to 200 m (up to 600 m<br />
without RS-485 data). This installation ensures<br />
an easy and cost-effective conversion to IP<br />
technology at a later date. The cameras of the<br />
„U“ series (e.g. VTC-8322WDPU, VTC-280IR-<br />
PWDU, VTC-HDH444IRPWDU) have a built-in<br />
twisted pair transmitter with RJ-45 connector<br />
which allows for a direct connection to a twisted<br />
pair receiver using a network cable. The <strong>vi<strong>de</strong>o</strong><br />
picture is transmitted from the camera using a<br />
CAT5 / CAT6 / CAT7 cable. The receiver <strong>de</strong>vice,<br />
e.g. VEZ-4SYS or VEZ-16SYS, supplies power.<br />
Telemetry data (RS-485) for setting camera parameters<br />
can also be transmitted. Twisted pair<br />
technology works in the same way as PoE does<br />
for IP technology.<br />
