A legacy of progress, service
I am proud to serve as
the seventh chairman
of SCANA Corp. during
what may be the busiest
time in our history. Bill Timmerman retired as our
chairman and CEO Nov. 30, leaving an outstanding
legacy of progress, growth and service to our
customers and communities.
SCANA is the only Fortune
500 company headquartered in
South Carolina, serving three
states with more than 1 million
natural gas customers and 1.6
million total customers.
Two new nuclear units
are waiting on final approval
from the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission.
We recently partnered
with Boeing in completing the
sixth largest solar installation
in the U.S. The site is the only
location in the world currently
assembling commercial aircraft
with 100 percent renewable
energy.
Our businesses and
employees live and work by the
SACRED values that drive our
company: Serve our community;
Achieve; Communicate openly and
honestly; Respect diversity and care
for each other; Excel in customer
service and safety; and Do what
is right.
At the same time, we
understand fully that many of
our customers struggle every
day to pay for basic needs,
including energy. Businesses
have closed, jobs have been lost
and homebuilding and buying
have been affected by difficult
economic conditions.
Our economic development
specialists work every day with
others in the community to
attract new jobs through new
and expanding industries.
We continue to focus on
providing stunning customer
service to all customers at all
levels, from the senior citizen
in a small apartment to the
largest industry.
We are pleased to share the
stories of some of our most
recent projects in this edition
of Insights.

part of a nature trail from South
Carolina’s mountains to the sea.
