Luxury new-builds for Seabourn
New Prime-
Serv package
Retrofits | MAN Diesel Prime-
Serv SE introduces Prime-
Serv Trident, a package to
support customers to invest in
retrofit technology.
The first retrofit solutions include
the Alpha Lubricator,
which is claimed to reduce cylinder-oil
feed-rates by 20-30%,
the turbocharger cut-out, which
is said to improve main-engine
performance during low-load
operation, as well as the blending
on board, which blends additives
into system oil for use as
cylinder oil. The PrimeServ Trident
concept will as per MAN
statement eventually expand to
include more retrofit types
According to the MAN Diesel
PrimeServ offer, the investments
have a pay-back period
of no more than two years
and hence the new financing
scheme is linked to this period:
Payment is spread out over the
pay-back period and balanced
by the savings created by the
retrofit itself.
