FilmOut San Diego
(San Diego’s only LGBT film festival) will continue
its Monthly Screening Series on June 25th, 7:00pm,
at the Landmark Hillcrest Cinemas
SEEK (2014), Director: Eric Henry, 77 minutes, Canada.
**U.S. Premiere – Director Eric Henry and actor Ryan Fisher
will be in attendance**
Evan Brisby (Adrian Shepherd-Gawinski) wakes up to the sight of a lost love
named Jordan (Matthew Ludwinski). The only problem is, Jordan is really not
there. Evan can’t seem to get the image and memory of Jordan out of his
mind. Joe Thorpe (Graham Gauthier), an editor at a very large newspaper,
gives Evan a chance to write a feature article on the city’s nightlife. This is
a great opportunity for Evan who currently writes for a local gay magazine
called “XUS”, and he is looking to expand his career.
Waiting at the XUS office for Evan’s return is Aidan Star (Jonathan Nathaniel),
XUS’s society columnist. Aidan congratulates Evan on the new assignment
and reminds him that the “888 Party” is coming up and that they should go
together. Evan is reluctant, but Aidan pushes him. Flashback to the last “888
Party” where we see the initial meeting between Evan and Jordan. Later
that week, Aidan drags Evan onto the dance floor at the “888 Party”. Evan
is determined to have a good time, but leaves quickly after having a couple
more visions of Jordan on the dance floor.
Leaving the club, Evan meets Hunter (Ryan Fisher). Hunter starts up a chat
and tells Evan that he is the promoter of the party, and that nightlife is his
business. Realizing that Hunter would be a great subject for his article, Evan
starts out to profile Hunter and his friends. While following Hunter and
writing for XUS, Evan must deal with the torment of lost love, and meet
people who have found happiness and contentment in some uncommon
places. Personal relationships strain and Evan must seek out what he wants
in life. Trailer:
