Success Stories
Naramata Elementary continued...
Naramata held their first Science Themed Carnival held on March 16 th . Everyone thoroughly
enjoyed themselves as it was a great success and lots of fun for children and parents alike. The
carnival was held in celebration of our province's 'Year of Science" theme and included many of
engaging, hands-on learning activities such as:
- How many balloons can you stick to yourself in a minute using static electricity (wear lots of
polyester)?
- Who can throw their unique circular glider the furthest?
- Who can ride a tricycle around an obstacle course the quickest?
- Who can maneuver a ball around the "Gravitron" the quickest?
And probably the most popular event . . . DUCT TAPE A TEACHER TO THE WALL!
Students purchased strips of duct tape to place across the bodies of two teacher volunteers.
Then the chairs were removed and voila, the teachers stuck. There was lots of science related
fun stuff like pulling a giant bubble up around yourself using a hoola hoop, making slime,
chromatography crafts, and much more.
A huge thank you to Deb Linton, Miranda Halladay and their team of dedicated parent
volunteers for organizing this wonderful carnival.
