Coordination <strong>an</strong>d Communication: <strong>CALTRAN</strong>’s project m<strong>an</strong>ager Mr. Calderon will be available to<br />

meet the project-stakeholders at their request without over-extending the budget. He will insure that each<br />

request must be evaluated accordingly to the methods adopted by FDOT. We also developed <strong>an</strong><br />

admin<strong>is</strong>trative pl<strong>an</strong> to provide the city with clear lines of communication. <strong>CALTRAN</strong> considers that <strong>an</strong><br />

essential element <strong>is</strong> to maintain direct lines of communication that will allow sharing of ideas, experience,<br />

<strong>an</strong>d use of technology, as well as, providing high quality services to the City of North Miami Beach. Mr.<br />

Calderon will to develop schedules, org<strong>an</strong>ize subgroups for additional tasks, <strong>an</strong>d track all progress in<br />

various work orders that will enh<strong>an</strong>ce the efficiency in fund allocations. Mr. Calderon’s conflict<br />

resolution process pushes our Team to examine goals in close detail, help to underst<strong>an</strong>d critical<br />

components, sharpen focus, <strong>an</strong>d enh<strong>an</strong>ce effectiveness.<br />

Scheduling: <strong>CALTRAN</strong> <strong>is</strong> committed to provide the City of North Miami Beach with a high quality<br />

project by meeting the City of North Miami Beach’s schedule <strong>an</strong>d budget requirements, as well as, assign<br />

the most qualified <strong>an</strong>d dependable staff to carry out the work required under th<strong>is</strong> project. <strong>CALTRAN</strong>’s<br />

staff underst<strong>an</strong>ds that a schedule <strong>is</strong> intended not only for the consult<strong>an</strong>t, but also for the City to coordinate<br />

their resources for reviewing submittals <strong>an</strong>d for reporting to other City members. <strong>CALTRAN</strong> values the<br />

import<strong>an</strong>ce of meeting milestone dates, review dates, <strong>an</strong>d final submittal dates.<br />

As <strong>an</strong> example below <strong>is</strong> a proposed schedule prepared based on previous experience for a corridor master<br />

pl<strong>an</strong> reflect time frame for data collected, v<strong>is</strong>ion developing, strategy development. Each phase will be<br />

assessed considering the timeframes that the City requires being flexible <strong>an</strong>d adaptable to provide the cost<br />

effective solutions.<br />

Cost Control: It <strong>is</strong> <strong>CALTRAN</strong>’s policy to provide the most of value <strong>engineering</strong> concepts through costeffectiveness<br />

for the conditions given. <strong>CALTRAN</strong> has demonstrated these capabilities on previous<br />

projects of th<strong>is</strong> type. Internal cost control <strong>is</strong> also provided through a custom accounting system software,<br />

which tracks project costs <strong>an</strong>d provides project perform<strong>an</strong>ce <strong>an</strong>d billing information.<br />

Safety: In South Florida there <strong>is</strong> a const<strong>an</strong>t increase in vehicular traffic,<br />

therefore our staff has been trained to become intimately familiar with<br />

roadway conditions <strong>an</strong>d character<strong>is</strong>tics, <strong>an</strong>d to be capable to assess <strong>an</strong>d<br />

mitigate situations that may put them at r<strong>is</strong>k. <strong>CALTRAN</strong> recognizes<br />
