Mr. Calderon as Project Manager was responsible for conducting and
coordinating traffic studies that could impact bicycle/pedestrian and transit
facility projects, etc.; review the technical traffic impact studies submitted by
land developers for proposed projects in Miami Beach, and provide prompt input
to the administration on accuracy of information provided in the studies as they
relate to impact to the existing transportation system.

Intersection and Corridor Analysis: CALTRAN’s staff is experienced
and has performed multiple intersections and corridors analyses using the
latest Highway Capacity Software or SYNCHRO 8 and VISSIM. Traffic
Signal operations will be retrieved from the Miami-Dade County traffic
signal system. The intersection and corridor analysis will address: the
impact of geometric improvements, the existing and future intersection
LOS, interval and phasing timing optimization, new signal timing plans,
fuel consumption over benefits like reductions in control delay and
accident numbers or severity, as well as, community response among each
alternative. CALTRAN’s latest intersection and corridor analysis is below:
Project Name: Traffic Study and Signal Design for Miramar Parkway & Palm Ave (2012):
Scope: Traffic study that identifies issues, operational needs and provides
recommendations that pertain to the proposed signal modification that includes to
implement a dual left turn for the northbound and southbound approaches at the
intersection of Miramar Parkway and Palm Avenue within the City of Miramar.
Furthermore, developed signal design to be implemented at the mentioned
intersection.
