FINANCE<br />

The Finance Department is responsible for a variety <strong>of</strong> financial functions including maintenance <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong>'s general ledger for the<br />

many funds and account groups <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong>. The Finance Director prepares monthly and annual financial reports for the Mayor and<br />

<strong>City</strong> Council, Water and Power Board, and other <strong>City</strong> departments. This includes preparing the Comprehensive Annual Financial<br />

Report for submission to the Utah <strong>St</strong>ate Auditor's <strong>of</strong>fice within six months <strong>of</strong> the close <strong>of</strong> each fiscal year. The <strong>City</strong> Treasurer<br />

oversees the collection, deposit, investment, and disbursement <strong>of</strong> all <strong>City</strong> funds. The Finance Department also includes Accounts<br />

Payable, Payroll, Utility Billing and Business License responsibilities. Over 30,000 utility billings are prepared, mailed, and<br />

collected each month by department personnel.<br />

constraints, it is recommended that hiring for this position be frozen this year and reinstated in subsequent budget years providing<br />

funds are available. Costs associated with this position have been removed from this year's budget.<br />
