JetView Pro provides a comprehensive platform for
monitoring, configuring and maintaining mission-critical
IP-based communication networks. It supports group
configuration such as firmware upgrade, IP modification
as well as MSR group management, as a result, greatly
increasing network performance.
Using the Server-Client operation mode, the user-friendly
software ensures system scalability, reliability and real
time status.
With the JetView Pro, network managers can simulate
L2 (RSR, RDH, RSTP) and L3 topologies for totally 1024
nodes, including JetNet, JetRock, JetPoE, JetBox, JetIO,
JetWave, JetPort, and 3rd party devices.
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)
SNMP is an application layer protocol. The SNMP
system consists of SNMP manager, SNMP agent, and
MIB (Management Information Base) as well as the
repository for device parameters and network data.
The SNMP manager can be part of an NMS (Network
Management System), and can request or change the
MIB variables in the agent (switch).
An agent can send unsolicited traps to the manager.
Traps are the messages that alert the SNMP manager
for condition on the network, such as user authentication,
restarts, link status (up or down) or other significant
events.
The Link Layer Discover Protocol (LLDP) was formally
ratified as IEEE 802.1AB-2005. LLDP is a Layer 2
protocol that allows the network device/station to
advertise its identity and major capabilities on the local
network.
In industrial environments, most vendors provide their
own discovering protocols, window utility or other tools
to manage their switches. The LLDP protocol fixes the
interoperability among them. By supporting LLDP, users
can troubleshoot and enhance network management
by easily browsing the network devices, discovering
and maintaining network topologies over multi-vendor
environments.
By Supporting SNMP, LLDP and JetView protocol, the
JetNet series can be easily discovered. Moreover, with
the Korenix designed JetView Pro Network Management
System or third party NMS which support SNMP and
LLDP, the port and ring status of the switches can be
displayed on the topology map. The software can help
administrators efficiently and effectively manage the
industrial network performance.
