U P C O M I N G E V E N T S | What’s coming up in Tassie footy AFL TASMANIA Supports the Cancer Council of Tasmania - Visit the ManVan The Cancer Council of Tasmania, in partnership with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, are running a Men’s Health and Cancers project, which aims to change the way men approach their health. In 2006, 487 Tasmanian men were diagnosed with prostate cancer in Tasmania. In that same year, 73 Tasmanian men died following a prostate cancer diagnosis. 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85. Part of the Men’s Health and Cancers Project is the ManVan. The ManVan will be at West Park today during the Burnie Vs Glenorchy game. Trained staff and volunteers will provide information on prevention, early detection, treatment and survival of men’s cancer. We are asking men to step up and `Be a man. Ask the van.’ They will also have information on ways to make smart lifestyle choices. While the ManVan will tour the State regularly as a matter of course, it is also available on request, and it’s hoped male-dominated workplaces in particular will step up and take the initiative to arrange a visit from the ManVan.
