“Living in Hill
is like living
with one
huge family!
The guys on my floor are my best
friends, and I feel at home in Hill.
The traditions and relationships
make it hard not to feel welcomed.”
– Carl Sallee, Sophomore
Hill Hall opened in 1962 and was named
for the Reuben Hill family, who donated the
property for the school’s expansion.
Hill Hall is known across
campus for its family
atmosphere. Its comfortable main
lounge is where students often gather for
study and conversation. Hill Hall “beach,” a
grassy area behind the hall, is a popular place
for outdoor recreation.
Hill Hall is also home of the REX Center,
which offers circuit training and aerobic
equipment. This residence hall is just a short
walk to both Gwinn Commons and the SPU
Library.
Annual events include a fall retreat,
a Halloween dance, Decade Skate, and a hall
ball (which has been held at venues such as
the Pacific Science Center and Experience
Music Project).
moyer hall
Moyer fosters a
close-knit community
where residents know
each other well. Located on the edge
of Tiffany Loop, Moyer is in the heart of central
campus and close to most classrooms, dining
locations, and recreational facilities.
In this fun and family-like hall, Moyer residents
enjoy activities such as a fall retreat, an
annual broomball tournament, and the Experience
Moyer Project. Last year Moyer and Hill Hall
councils collaborated to plan a joint-hall ball at
the Experience Music Project.
Opened in 1953 and remodeled in 1983, Moyer
was named in honor of Jacob Moyer for his years
of service from 1925 to 1946 as a professor and
dean of Seattle Pacific.
“Moyer is full of
fun, respectful,
and talented
people! At any point you can
count on music and laughter flowing out
the windows into Tiffany Loop. With a
hall as amazing as Moyer, why would
you live anywhere else?”
– Kat Pickens, Sophomore
