Outstanding Alumna 2009
Peggy Lampley Robeson, ’60
Peggy Lampley Robeson was named
the Outstanding Alumna 2009 for all
she has done for the St. Cecilia
Academy family since her graduation
in 1960 and for the bridge she has
built between the school and her Class
of 1960.
Peggy Lampley Robeson, ’60, is a
legend at St. Cecilia Academy.
Her SCA classmate Pat Weisiger
Morel said Peggy “has held the class
together” since graduation. She has
planned a class reunion for her class
almost yearly as well as monthly
“get-togethers.”
“Peggy gives freely of herself to any
and everyone who has any needs,”
Mrs. Morel said. “She is warmhearted,
loving and giving.”
Peggy volunteers her time to St. Cecilia
Academy in countless ways. She
faithfully attends alumnae events,
volunteers to help set up events and
helps with such tasks as mailings.
Peggy attended grade school at Holy
Name. She began St. Cecilia Academy
in 1956 at the Motherhouse. She
graduated in 1960, the third class to
graduate at the present day St. Cecilia
Legacy Society could be your future at SCA
St. Cecilia Academy has a proud
legacy of developing young women
for success in life. This work could
not be done without the sacrifice
and effort of the sisters and faculty
who teach and mentor each
student. They do not do this work
alone. Without the help of our
generous benefactors, St. Cecilia
Academy would not be the school
it is today. When you become a
member of the Legacy Society, you
join us in making the resources of
The Dominican Campus available
for future generations.
To become a member you may
Peggy, bottom far right, with her classmates
this summer.
Academy on Harding Road. Her
younger sister, Patricia Marie
Lampley, followed in Peggy’s
footsteps and graduated from St.
Cecilia in 1963.
After graduating from the University of
Tennessee, she married and began
a career in the insurance industry.
She is the proud mother of one son,
John, and a step-daughter, Alicia.
She was honored at this year’s Alumnae
Association luncheon for “exemplifying
the spirit of St. Cecilia Academy.” •
