Next St. Lucy Bus Trip! Call Today!
“BAREFOOT IN THE PARK”
They say laughter is the best medicine and that is what you
will get plenty of if you sign up to go on the May 25th St. Lucy
Bus Trip to see Neil Simon’s “BAREFOOT IN THE PARK” at
the Fireside Theatre in Ft. Atkinson. Another side-splitting
romp from the undisputed king of Broadway comedies—Neil
Simon. We start with two young newlyweds
starting married life out in one of New
York’s most off beat and hilarious
apartment buildings. And when we add the
bride’s proper mother and the dashing,
bohemian upstairs neighbor, it’s a recipe for
a rollicking romantic adventure that will
keep you laughing. The laughs are nonstop
in this smash Broadway hit from
America’s favorite playwright. For more
information, please call Chuck or Edie
D’Acquisto at 639-4986.
THE FOUNDER OF MOTHER’S DAY was a woman
by the name of Anna M. Jarvis. Concerned about the negative
treatment of mothers by their adult children, she initiated a
letter-writing campaign in hopes of starting a special Mother’s
Day observance. The first Mother’s Day celebration was
actually a church service held in Grafton, West Virginia, on May
10, 1908.
Today, Mother’s Day is a popular occasion, warm and
joyful in spirit. Flowers and gifts are often the order of the day;
and greetings are sent not only to one’s mother, but often to any
care-giving, nurturing woman who merits the accolades of
motherhood.
Happy Mother’s Day!
