Volunteers Needed for Ridgewood
Assistance is needed beginning Monday, May 6th at the Ridgewood
Care Center. St. Lucy’s is responsible for communion
service or Mass every Monday during the months of May and
June. If you would like to donate your time for an hour or two
every week, or whatever you can give, please contact Donna
De Caire at 262-554-5300. Thank you!

We need someone...
Someone is needed to take the 7:00pm to
8:00pm hour on Thursdays. Please call

Help Us Win!!
St. Lucy Parish School is having a recycling competition with a
another school and whoever brings in the most ink cartridges,
toner cartridges and old cell phones to recycle gets a 25% bonus
pay back. The competition is from now until April 30th.
You can drop off your recyclables in the school office or the
collection basket at church. If you have any questions call Sue
Bobholz at 554-1801 ext 211.
St. Lucy presents…
THE SECRET GARDEN Performance!
Explore this enchanting garden as it comes to life with Mary
Lennox, Colin Craven, the Bugs that Rock and a host of others
on Saturday, May 4th as the Missoula Children’s Theatre and
more than 50 St. Lucy students present an original musical
adaptation of THE SECRET GARDEN at St. Lucy School gymnasium.
Performances are FREE and take place at 3:00 pm and
5:30 pm. This is part of the Missoula Children's Theatre's
unique international touring project. Come and see the outstanding
talent in our fine students!
Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive

The Knights of Columbus collected over $950.00 last weekend
with their annual Tootsie Roll Drive. Thanks to all who donated
to help the intellectually challenged in our community.

Pre-school Sunday School is being held today in Rm. 1

he anticipation is almost over. Today
the second grade parish school
students will be receiving Jesus for
the first time in the Sacrament of First Holy
Communion. They have been so anxious and
have worked so hard preparing for this most
important day. Let’s pray that their
enthusiasm to receive the body and blood of Jesus continues
throughout their lives. Congratulations to them and to their
families!

Roses
Roses will be provided for sale by Pro-Life to raise
funds for the children. We will be assembling
these roses on Saturday, May 11th at 11am in
the St. Lucy School First Grade Classroom.
Volunteers are also needed to assemble and sell roses at
the 4pm Mass on Saturday May 11th and at the 7:30,
9:00 and 10:00am Masses on Sunday May 12th. Please

Memorial Day Collection for Soldiers
As part of the St. Lucy School’s Memorial Day celebration, they
will be collecting items to send to our soldiers overseas. They
are looking for the following items: Cheddar Cheese Microwave
Popcorn, Hard Candy, Mints, Hormel Meal Packets, DVD Movies,
Tuna Packets, Playing Cards, Crystal Light, Energy Bars,
Power-Ade Mixes, Individual Kleenex Packets, Chapstick, Ziploc
bags, small containers, Jerky, Visine/Murine, International
Phone Cards. There will be a collection table in the school
lobby and a container in the Narthex of the church. All items
need to be donated by May 24th. If you have the name and
address of someone overseas, please send it to:

Deacon Gideon Buya
On May 12th, after the 10:30 Mass we will have a reception to
celebrate Gideon Buya’s Diaconate Ordination. As a Deacon,
Gideon will be taking on more responsibilities at St. Lucy’s
Church. So come and share fellowship as Gideon continues his
formation toward priesthood.

St. Lucy Blood Drive
Have you signed up yet for the St. Lucy Blood
Drive which will be held on Monday, May 6th? St.
Lucy’s Parish has been holding Blood Drives
since July of 2003. They were started as an Eagle
Scout project.
Please consider making an appointment because your donation
of one pint of blood could save three lives. Sign up
sheets with appointment times are on a table by the east
entrance.

Welcome to St. Lucy’s Catholic Church • April 28, 2013

F
or the past 6 weeks, one of the 9th grade CCD classes held a
1st Annual Sainthood Project Tournament. Loosely based on
March Madness, the students 'played' matches against each
other. Each week they chose a Saint, identified a virtue that the
Saint demonstrated and presented the life and virtue of the Saint
to the rest of the class. The class scored the head to head
matches and the winners moved on to the next week's competition.
In the final, Julie Asher and St. Katherine Drexel and the virtue
of Love, defeated Robert Chavez, St.. Michael the Archangel
and the virtue of Courage. Students used pictures, maps, drawings,
reports and skits to creatively present their saint and virtue
each week. Some of other saints we learned about were St.
Therese of Lisieux, St Kateri Tekawitha, St. John Baptist de la
Salle, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Peregrine, St. Padre Pio and many
more. Congratulations to Julie and all of the students for their fine
