WEDDINGS - Should be arranged at least 6 months before
wedding date and couples should be registered and
practicing members of the parish.
BAPTISM - Arrangements for registered & practicing members
of the parish can be made after attending the Baptism Prep
Class. Call Sandy Gottfredsen during office hours (Mon.-
Wed., 8am-4pm) to set up a date. Baptisms take place on
Sundays at 12 Noon.

Baptism Preparation Classes
All parents wishing to have a child baptized at St. Lucy’s must
attend a Baptism Preparation Class before making an
arrangement to choose a date for the baptism. We strongly
encourage both parents to attend one of the classes before
the birth of the baby.
The class will be held on Sunday evenings once a month
(usually the first Sunday of the month) at 6:30pm in the
church. The next class offered will be August 2nd. ( There will
not be a class in the month of July.) The Baptismal Fee of
$25.00 should be paid when attending the class. Please call
Sandy Gottfredsen to register for the class (554-1801, ext.
208).
Please keep in mind when choosing godparents, one sponsor
must be a baptized, confirmed, practicing Catholic and it is
required that the Sponsor Form be signed and approved by the
parish at which the sponsor is currently registered. The
sponsor form should be returned to the Parish Office at St.
Lucy’s at least two weeks prior to the baptism date. Call Sandy
Gottfredsen at 554-1801, ext. 208, to make arrangements for
a date after taking the class.

Thank You!
An extra thank you to all who contributed money for the tablecloths
for the Vatican Exhibit. The tablecloths were donated to
travel with the exhibit. St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield,
IL, the coordinates the hosting of the exhibit were thrilled
with this new addition! All time and treasure that was contributed
to the effort of hosting this exhibit is truly appreciated.

ast week I wrote about church donations and the need
for people to be more generous in their contributions.
There are people who have been blessed financially
and who are able to be more generous. We hope that they will!
This week I want to address the members who are unable to
give more financially. The past few years have been a strain on
many a family. If you are in this category, you can help the
church with your time and talent by volunteering!
There is always an abundance of things that need doing ~
always a need for more willing hands.
Our festival is one example of an area that requires many
helping hands to be successful. If you have the time, and are
available then why not volunteer? You will be helping the
church, you will be making your donation, and you will feel
better about yourself. It is also a very good way to meet and
make new friends too. This year, take that initial step and sign
up to help!
We need many volunteers for Vacation Bible School, too. Don’t
sit back and think it will get done without you. We need you!
Let’s get off those couches and get moving for our church, our
kids, and ourselves!

Food Pantry For Our Parishioners
Parishioners and their families in need of help with food,
please contact the office at 554-1801. We will take your name
and number and Leslie Hurdis will contact you and make arrangements
for pickup. Donators please check the dates on
food you are contributing, we have had to dispose of many
items in the last month. Thanks.
Community Needs Outreach
A limited number of healthcare aides are available to parish
members. These items which have been donated by parish
members include a walker, canes, crutches, and a shower
stool and are available for short term use. Call Delores at 886-
2451 for information or if you have some equipment that you
would like to donate to help others.
We Need Your Help
If you know of a parishioner who has recently moved to a
nursing home or is homebound due to illness, please call
Sandy Gottfredsen at 554-1801, x208..

7th Annual BBQ Pork Chop Dinner-June 28th!
The Knights of Columbus will be holding their BBQ Pork Chop
Dinner today, Sunday, June 28th from Noon to 4:00pm at the
Knights of Columbus Banquet Hall, 13249 Washington Ave,
Sturtevant. The dinner includes BBQ chops, baked beans, cole
