Example case study Pallets, flow racks & structures Optimal combination for storing transport equipment Customer: Fetra is one of the leading manufacturers of transport carriages and trucks made of steel, aluminium and stainless steel and produces transport equipment of the highest quality which is distinguished by exceptional functionality, maximum comfort and clear design. From office trolleys to carriages with a load capacity of 24 tons: the Fetra range consists of more than 1000 items. Mission statement: Intelligent warehouse logistics was required to match the modernisation of production processes at Fetra. The increased demand for carriages, trolleys and lift trucks needed to be handled even more quickly. Solution: For storing packages, META installed a META MULTIPAL ® S pallet rack with 120 storage places. To this were added gratings on which Fetra could also store bulky and non-standard packages with no problems. Metal grating = high load capacity and transparency. If necessary, the capacity of the package storeroom can be increased to 240 storage spaces by means of additional roller tracks. META also installed a MULTILINE ® S flow rack with 250 storage spaces for storing hand pallet trucks. The First-in-First-out (FiFo) principle is applied for storage. This is important, as the first trucks to be produced are also the first to be sold. Advantages of META MULTILINE ® S: saving on costs through shorter travel and working times and increased handling rate. The META MULTIPAL ® and META MULTILINE ® systems are set on steel platforms. These are supported by a total of 33 structural steel sections, which are sunk half a metre into the warehouse floor. The reason for this expensive form of construction is the conveyor belt under the platforms, on which Fetra transports its MultiVario transporters directly from production to the warehouse exit.
