Busy, that’s the word that
describes November. LOH
members and our outstanding
Ladies really turned to until mission
accomplished. BRAVO ZULU to the Ladies
Aux. and galley crew lead by Brother Beeler
who cranked out a record number of B & G
platters. It just keeps getting better.
BRAVO ZULU to the Flag detail who
once again braved the weather to honor our
Veterans by displaying the Veteran’s Flags in
front of the Temple for all to see and reflect
on their sacrifice to keep us free.
BRAVO ZULU to our Color Guard for
their outstanding presentation of the Colors
at the Fall Ceremonial. I thing the reason our
Color Guard is so good is that we care, and
that’s all we need to say about that.
BRAVO ZULU to Brother Dale Hiers and
his beautiful Lady Elizabeth who celebrated
their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Please
congratulate them the next time you meet
they.
PLAN FOR THE MAN: Our next Unit
meeting will be December 6th, 2011, and
will start at 1830. 2012 Officer elections will
be held with our annual dinner and social
following our meeting. If you haven’t been
to a meeting in a while please try to make this
one. Fellowship, Food and maybe an adult
beverage are best when shared with friends
and family.
Membership Dues, well, they’re due.
$30, same as last year. I guarantee there will
somebody there to take your money so lets
get em in so we have an accurate accounting
and next year’s budget can be set.
Skipper put the word out and wants
all hands to think CIRCUS. Mark your
calendars, Feb. 23, 24, 25 & 26. Maybe the
last one at the Civic Center so be part of
history and lets all turn out and support our
Circus. I have tickets if you need them.
Reminder Brothers, the 2012 CSSA
Convention is in Cedar Rapids, IA starting
on August 8th. I’ve been there and it is
a wonderful City. A great little weekend
getaway for you and your Lady. More
information to follow in the months ahead.
I.A.L.O.H. will be March 21-25, in
Alexandria, VA. Lady Debbie and I will be
there and I was assured that scheduled liberty
times were incorporated into the convention’s
agenda to accommodate visiting our National
Treasures.
Last month’s Trivia answer: Semper

Motor A

This one will be short and sweet. Our
meeting at Millard Road House was great as
usual. Lots of fun and seriousness. The new
Motor A shirts arrived and were handed out.
KUDOS to Dan and Linda Davis for all their
hard work. Our Divan rep Chuck Sohm was
there and gave us all the low down for what is
going on at the Shrine.
Elections were held with the following
officers elected for 2012:
Captain Larry “no key, no gas” Hulsebus
Lieutenant Richard “on time” Chilton
Secretary Ronald “clutz” Stites
Treasurer Roger “roll over” McCauley
With the lineup we have you must come to
one of our meetings.
Ron and Tami are hosting our Christmas
party again and I will report on what a success
it was next month.

Past Masters

The Past Master’s Club will be holding
our 2011 Holiday Meeting on Saturday,
December 10, 2011 at Tangier Shrine Center,
2823 S. 84th Street, Omaha. Cocktails at 5:00
pm. and Dinner at 6:00 pm.
Current and Past Master’s and their
Ladies are welcome and invited to attend the
meeting. We will be electing the 2011 officers
at this meeting.
Dinner will be catered by Henn Catering,
offering your choice of Prime Rib, (cooked
medium to medium well), or Chicken Cordon
Bleu, served with baked potato, mixed
vegetables and desert.
Price is $18.00 per person, which includes
gratuity. Cash bar.
Dues for 2011 remain $5.00, and the
initiation fee for
new members is
also $5.00.

I would like to say a big thank you for those
of you that attended the Calendar Kickoff in
October and to all of you that are out selling
the 2012 Calendar. Hopefully, calendar sales
are going well. One great selling point, as
you all know is the fact that they support
our game which then helps our hospitals.
With the holidays just around the corner
a Nebraska Shrine Bowl Calendar would
makes a great Christmas present. If you did
not get calendars to sell and are interested
please contact Arnie Nelson or Bill Harper.
Remember January 15th is the last day we
have to sell. So please try to get out and sell
all of the calendars that we have.
The coaches for the games have been
chosen. These coaches will meet for the first
time with Shrine Bowl staff to start player
selections the first week of December. I am
excited about our staff. Many of their teams
went deep into the state playoffs. I am sure
they will do a great job selecting young men
that will represent our state and cause very
well.
As always thank you for supporting our
game; without your help we could not do it.
