Greetings Nobles and Ladies, 

It’s August and it is a hot summer! July 

was not too busy but we did have some 

things go on. We replaced the carpet in the 

main room and it looks wonderful. The 

Divan cooked and served before a joint 

stated meeting with the Ladies. It 

was a fun and inspirational evening, 

thanks to all that attended. I am told 

the Ralston parade was a success and 

no one passed out from the heat. 

Most of the Divan, several Past Potentates and our 

Ladies traveled to Charlotte NC for the Imperial session. 

Imperial has launched a major public relations program. 

Be sure to look for the Shriners Hospitals for Children 

commercials. Overall it was a very productive and 

informative session. 

CSSA is this month is Cedar Rapids Iowa. We have sold 

out all of our hotel rooms and I know some people were 

unable to obtain one. I apologize for the inconvenience. 

This is why I cannot stress enough how important it is to 

make reservations for our events ASAP. 

Don’t forget the August stated meeting is on the first 

Thursday, August 2nd because of CSSA. 

Tangier’s annual spaghetti feed is rapidly approaching. 

It will be on Sunday September 23rd. I’m sure Illustrious 

Sir Frank Kroupa will be contacting many of you for 

your much needed talent and of course your donations. 

My Halloween committee wanted me to have you save 

the date for the party which is Saturday October 27th, 

more details next month. 

Let’s all try to focus on membership for the last half 

of the year. We had a great start but we have stalled a 

little bit over the summer. We are still doing cold sands 

every Wednesday before the stated meeting. If you have 

questions or need help with a candidate, don’t hesitate to 

ask for help. 

Finally I just want to say how proud I am of our parades 

this year. We have had a great turn out for most of them 

on the schedule. Thank you for all of your hard work!

The Red 

Cross View

The next blood drive at Tangier will be on Monday 

August 13. The drive will start at Noon and end at 6:00 

pm. You know by this time that we did not reach our quota 

in May. In the June Hot Sands I said that I would bring you 

up to date on the new gallon club members and those who 

had achieved new levels. That will have to wait until next month 

when I have current information from the Red Cross. 

I decided that I would try to get some information from the 

Red Cross to compare our results of the first four drives with 

those of the last four drives to see how they would compare. It 

was rather disappointing to learn that we had collected 107 pints 

in 1996 and only 66 pints fifteen years later. What were we doing 

then that is different from our approach to a drive today. So far 

I have been unable to come to any conclusion as to changes that 

should be made. 

You may be interested to know that in 61 previous drives 

we collected 1,538 pints of blood for use in the community. This 

averages out to be better than 25 pints for each drive. Our average 

for the last four drives is 16.5 pints. In 1997 we collected 47 pints 

which is the highest since we started. The lowest is 12 pints in 

February of 2012. 

In fairness to the Red Cross and those who work at our drives 

we should get back to our average of 25 pints. Let us all work 

together to see if we can accomplish this in August. In the future 

if you set up an appointment let’s try to be on time so that we can 

keep the staff busy for the six hours they are at Tangier.

participated in our Bakeless Bake Sale 

fund raiser and made it a big success! 

We raised over $800 dollars which will 

be used for the Shriners Hospital for 

Children - Twin Cities. We have not had 

regularly scheduled meetings during the 

summer, but have been steadily working 

on our craft projects for our Fall Style 

Show and Luncheon boutique on October 

13th. We will resume regular meetings in 

September; meetings are the 2nd and 4th 

Wednesday in the Aladdin Room at 10:00 

am. 

Thanks to all of the people who have 

dropped off can tabs for us at the Shrine 

Office or given them to us at different

Clowns

Hello all, I am sorry I did not have an 

article in July’s Hot Sands, we had a lot of 

gigs to do and a limited amount of help. We 

did a lot of paying and benefit gigs, some 

days were two and three gigs. 

Speaking of gigs we have Valentino’s as 

an ongoing gig and we have a lot of clowns 

on our roster, so let’s all get our makeup 

on and help out. The money being raised 

is going to the repairs of the fire truck. 

Speaking of which, Squiggles has been 

doing a fine job, a complete tune-up has 

been done, leaks have been fixed, the bench 

seat has been rebuilt and properly installed. 

We had to get new speakers as the old 

ones just aren’t what they use to be. The 

next item on the repair list will be getting 

the springs repaired, so it will be ready for 

CSSA. 

We have been meeting on Wednesday 

for skit practice. We all have some funny 

skits, and hopefully we will have some 

3-peats on past awards. Some are trying out 

new costumes this year. We will have two 

competing for rookie clown: “Fabuless”and 

“P.I” - good luck fellas. Also, the unit will 

be making a substantial donation to the 

“Red Sneaker Fund”. 

Keep August 18th clear we will be 

having our summer picnic. Please contact 

your officers or watch your e-mail. 

I want to thank everyone who turned out 

for parades so far this season. 

Again I have rambled on, so I will be 

signing off. “So let’s get out and make 

some kids smile”. 

It is still summer and the 

Chanters singing schedule is still limited 

due to vacations. However, this month we 

have plans to sing for some local churches. 

The proposed schedule is as follows: 

August 5 - St. Luke United Methodist 

Church (where the Chanter’s director, Dr. 

Theis is a choir director); 11810 Burke 

Street in Omaha. The service that begins at 

10:30 am. 

August 12 - Bethany Presbyterian Church 

(where Chanter Greg Carlson is pastor); 

1900 S 7th St in Council Bluffs. The 

summer worship service is at 9:30 am. 

August 19 - Lutheran Church of the 

Master; 2617 S. 114th St. in Omaha. The 

service begins at 9:15 am. 

The Chanters have also begun 

preparations for our annual fundraiser (the 

Rib Feed). Tickets should be on sale by the 

end of August. 

The Chanters will probably not practice 

in August except briefly before the church 

services. 

Any Noble with a little interest in singing 

and a willingness to join us should contact 

any Chanter or just leave a message at the 

Shrine Center. That’s my update for August.

Arab Patrol

The Arab Patrol made fleece tied blankets 

as a community project and President Phil 

Hardiman presented them to Children’s 

Hospital. They were well received and the 

staff commented that the patients were happy 

to have something to take home after their 

treatment. The patrol also attended the Boone 

and Crockett fish fry as a unit. The meal was 

terrific as usual and a good time was had by 

all. We also all had a great time at the Storm 

Chases baseball game in July. 

Charlie and Ellen Binge have offered to let 

us use their backyard for a gathering after the 

Millard Parade on August 25th. This means 

that the crack Arab Patrol marching men 

will once again hit the pavement. Our Ladies 

will join us for the after party, and here is the 

good news, you don’t have to bring food as it 

will be provided. 

Our next Arab Patrol meeting will be 

Monday, August 13th. 

This Hot Sands article comes to you from 

a warm sunny lakeshore in Central Missouri. 

We are right in the middle of a week’s stay at 

our cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks. It’s been 

an extra busy year for us this year so this 

is a welcome break. It has also been a very 

busy year for the Directors Staff. As in the 

past our veteran members have really made 

things run smoothly. But as you all know, 

the Directors Staff is having a huge growth 

spurt and we have new members really 

pitching in to make things happen. With the 

guidance of the veterans, the enthusiasm of 

the new members, and the hard work of all 

the members, we have really had a great year 

thus far. Not only do we get things done, we 

have a great time doing it. We really have a 

great bunch that enjoys being around each 

other. I know it’s an understatement but I 

will say it anyway, It’s good to be Directors 

Staff. 

Parade season is in full swing and as I 

mentioned earlier, it is going better than 

ever. We have some new guys that are really 

getting involved and having fun. I want 

to thank John Grant, Roger Mlady, Terry 

Cavin and Dave Hoffman for taking care of 

the Hearse and getting it stocked and to the 

parades. I also need to thank Joe Freeman 

for riding shotgun to teach the new drivers 

the intricacies of driving the hearse and 

Katy for making her world famous Bloody 

Marys. I should also give a special thanks 

to Bob Burbee and I. B. Joe for maintaining 

the hearse and keeping it going. 

Parade season isn’t the only summer 

activity the Directors Staff takes part in. We 

also run bingo for the Shrine picnic. Ron 

Kern headed this up again this year and John 

Chester helped call numbers. And again, we 

have a new member chipping in to make 

things happen. Roger Mlady picked the tent 

up in the shed and got it to the park. John 

Grant brought the Jobs Daughters again this 

year to call numbers and they were a big 

hit. Thanks everyone for another successful 

year with bingo. And thank you to everyone 

in the Directors Staff for the work you have 

all done to make this whole year a huge 

success and a whole lot of fun.

of the Nile

Thursday, August 2nd is our Stated Session 

with lunch at noon, and Session at 1:00. 

On Sunday, August 26th we will have our 

annual Pancake Breakfast and Bake Sale at 

the Shrine Center, on the lower level. We 

will be serving breakfast and selling our 

baked goods from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. 

Bring your family, friends, neighbors and 

colleagues from work, the cost is only $7, 

and $3 for kids 5 and under. The public is 

welcome. 

Thursday, September 6 is the Stated 

Session with lunch at noon, and Session at 

1:00. You can make lunch reservations with 

Margaret Kirby. 

Tuesday, September 18th, at 5:30 pm, 

the Metro Area Nile Club will host the Satra 

Temple Queen’s Visit. It will be at the 

Council Bluffs Country Club. You can call 

Arlene Andersen for a reservation. 

The Corner Lot Sale will be on Saturday, 

September 22 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the 

Shrine Temple in the South parking lot. We 

need people to help us with marking all the 

items we have collected which will begin at 

about 6:30 am. Please let me know if you can 

help us mark the items, my number is 402- 

203-9726. We are still accepting items for the 

sale; just give me a call. 

Saturday, October 6, our new Supreme 

Queen, Suzie Schumacher will visit Sat-ra 

Temple. The Stated Session and Ceremonial 

will be combined, so we will not have a 

Stated Session on August 4. We will start 

at 1:00 (no lunch that day); a Reception in 

the Green Room will follow the Ceremonial, 

which will be followed by a formal dinner 

banquet in the Main Room. You can invite 

your Noble, or significant other, to come to 

the dinner. The Ceremonial and Banquet will 

be at the Shrine Center. The dinner is $25 per 

person. Send a check to Barb Gray which 

will be your RSVP. 

Did you know? Members of Daughters 

of the Nile have been helping Shriners 

Hospitals for Children for nearly 90 years, 

and we are honored to be a part of the World’s 

Greatest Philanthropy. The Supreme Temple 

Daughters of the Nile Foundation is very 

proud of our donation to Shriners Hospitals 

for Children for the year 2011. The annual 

contribution brings the total contributions 

from Daughters of the Nile to over $50 

million. 

Daughters of the Nile, we hope to see you 

at upcoming Stated Sessions, the Ceremonial 

and Banquet, fundraisers, and all of our other 

events and activities.

Golden Girls

Already, here we are in the second half of 

the year 2012. Time, like money these days, 

seems to evaporate. Think you’ll agree. 

During August the summer begins to wind 

down. The school bells (excuse me - buzzers) 

ring for the youngsters to return to school 

and the grownups to return to the basics, so 

to speak. 

And the weather! We don’t need to dread 

those August “dog days” as we’ve suffered 

through a good supply of them during July. 

Blessed be the air conditioner. 

Golden Girls will meet on Tuesday, August 

14 - same time and place. The food is always 

very good and a very friendly atmosphere 

prevails. 

Any Lady affiliated with Daughters of the 

Nile or a Tangier Shriner, with no husband, 

is eligible for membership in Golden Girls. 

Tangier Shriners, if you know of any Lady 

meeting these eligibility requirements tell 

them about our club. Urge them to call 

Arlene Andersen, 402-384-8409 for further 

information. 

Golden Girl JoAnn Spann will be 

celebrating her birthday August 5th. Happy 

birthday JoAnn; wishing you many more. 

If you were unable to be present at our 

July meeting - too bad! You missed an 

exceptionally fine book review. Our luncheon 

guest, Barb Schlitz, reviewed the book “Mrs. 

Kennedy and Me” by Clint Hill. The author 

was Jackie Kennedy’s Secret Service agent. 

Both of them experienced many interesting 

situations during their four year close 

relationship.

Millard, August 25th. CSSA will be held in 

Cedar Rapids, Iowa on August 11th.

Hello Greeter Guys and Gals. 

The July 4th parade in Ralston was a hot 

one, it was well attended by the Tangier 

Nobles and Ladies, and no one melted from 

the heat. 

We have two local area parades in August: 

Carson Iowa, August 4th and Millard, August 

25th. Please try to attend if possible. The 

parades are fun and the fellowship is even 

better. A big thank you to Assistant Director 

Chuck Kubich for his truck to pull our 

greeters float. 

CSSA is on August 11th in Cedar Rapids, 

Iowa - wishing everyone a safe and fun trip. 

The Tangier Stated Meeting is the second 

Thursday, August 9th. We need Greeters at 

the door, dressed in red shirts and brown

Racers

Six Racers drove to Red Oak, IA in the rain 

but hoping for dry streets upon arrival. Not 

the case. We checked the parade route and 

it was full of puddles. Our little cars have 

floorboards that scoop in front. No way could 

we drive through puddles. We made the trip 

but could not be part of that annual parade. 

Next up for us will be CSSA and the Carson 

and Millard parades. We just need drier 

streets. 

The Racers now have new sweatshirts to 

wear during parades. The first time for these 

shirts will be Carson, Iowa on August 4. 

Tangier is getting ready for its annual 

Spaghetti feed and the Racers, as in the past, 

presented a check to Tangier to pay for the 

necessary meat that is the base for the sauce. 

See you there. 

Last month, we asked for the non driving 

racers to return their cars to the club for 

reassignment. No luck, yet. We will keep 

trying to get the unused cars in the hands of 

club members who want to drive in parades.

Hello Kops, Kuties, Nobles, and Ladies all. 

Just let me get this out of the way right off the 

bat. I’d really like to apologize for the lack of 

an article in last month I was suffering from 

computer issues. That being said August is 

here and CSSA is right around the corner. 

Actually there is no corner just a four hour 

drive across the wind milled plains of Iowa. I 

can’t wait to see you all there. I’m sure at least 

THREE of us will have a great time. Our skit 

is probably the greatest thing I’ve seen, and 

if we practice at least THREE more times we 

might actually earn that trophy. For the Kops 

that can’t make it we would love to have you 

participate in the JDRF walk on Saturday, 

August 11 at the Lewis & Clark Landing in 

downtown Omaha. We would ask the Kops 

to be at the event from approximately 9:30 

- 11:00 am. If you can do it they would love 

to have us. 

We have had some great parades this 

summer and even the heat couldn’t keep the 

Kops away from the soaking good times. The 

SWAT (soak-um wet attack team) has been 

out in full force pleasing the crowds with a 

nice refreshing spray down. It’s been great 

to see so many Kops able to make it to the 

parades this year. 

Now because I missed last month’s article 

I would like to mention all the July birthdays 

and anniversaries. So a big Happy July 

Birthday to Darwin Baker, Gene “Shave”

All aboard! WOW! July was a hot one this 

year. Hope everyone stayed cool and took it 

easy last month. Thank you to all who joined 

the train for a cool ride through the Ralston 4th 

of July parade. The city was out in full force. It 

was great to see such a turn out on a hot day. As 

always the pre-parade “vittles” were delicious! 

We still have a few more parades, Carson, 

IA on August 4th. They always have yummy 

fixings at the oasis afterwards, so come on out 

and enjoy a “down home good time” in Carson. 

Then CSSA August 9th, 10th, & 11th in Cedar 

Rapids. Look forward to seeing everyone 

there. The Millard parade is August 25th. 

In closing here are some words for thought: 

if the youth of today really listened to their 

elders of yesterday, would history repeat 

itself? Hmm. 

Be kind to your fellow man, it may be the 

only chance you get. 

Past Masters

Wow where did the summer go? It has gone 

by fast. On July 8th the Past Masters Club 

had their annual BBQ out at Cooper Village. 

We had a good turnout with about 30 in 

attendance. I would like to thank Charlie and 

Jeffrey for cooking and to Carl for making the 

arrangements and getting the steaks and sides. 

Our program was presented by our High Priest 

& Prophet Gary Unger who talked about the 

Shriners Hospitals for Children. If you haven’t 

visited a Shrine Hospital you need to do so. It is 

amazing what they can do for the kids. Thanks 

Gary for your program and reminding us why 

we have fun with a purpose. Also in attendance 

from the divan was Past Potentate and Treasurer 

Jim Parks, Sr. We always appreciate Divan 

members taking time out of their schedule to 

attend our meetings. 

Our next meeting will be October 13th at the 

Shrine. The program is pending at this point but 

several ideas have been mentioned. Watch the 

Hot Sands for more information. 

The Past Masters Club is a social club open 

to all past masters and current masters that 

are Shrine members. We meet quarterly and 

our dues are $5.00 a year. If you would like to

Remember to support your lodges, other 

clubs and units. Together we all have fun while 

helping the children. 


July…aaah July, what does a Pirate do 

in July? Well there is certainly July 4th to 

celebrate our nation’s independence and 

fireworks that could be seen all over Omaha 

and Council Bluffs while one relaxes. And 

there is looking forward to attending the 

upcoming Pirates meeting on the 4th Monday 

of July at 6:30 pm at the Tangier Center but 

other than that, well Pirates do what Pirates 

do best. You know what pirates do best, don’t 

you? If not, then come on down to the docks 

at the Tangier Center on July 23rd and meet 

the Mates and learn what Pirates do best and 

maybe join the crew and embark on some 

fun. 

Remember CSSA is not far away, and 

any help would be greatly appreciated from 

the crew to support our Illustrious Sir Greg 

and his Lady Donna in their year and as the 

founding member and Admiral of the Pirates.

This month is CSSA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa 

for the first time ever! 

Sunday September 23rd is the Spaghetti 

feed. There will be a lot of workers needed 

on that day and the weeks leading into the 

Spaghetti feed, so please plan on giving as 

much time as you can. 

It is one of Tangier’s biggest fundraising 

activities. 

Sunday September 30th is our car show 

and our club’s fundraiser. The fliers are ready 

to get out (see Jim Alessandro) and we need 

our members to sell as many sponsorships 

as they can as well as items for door prizes, 

raffle items etc. Jeff and his committee are 

meeting and gearing up for our car show. 

Please plan on attending our car show and 

donating your time to your club. 

The Ladies tell me that for the remainder 

of the year, the dinner fare for the monthly 

meetings will be “Pot Luck.” 

Remember to support all clubs, units, 

lodges and rites.

Sir Gregg and all the Divan for the 

outstanding July cookout and joint meeting 

with the Ladies. Lady Debbie really liked it. 

BRAVO ZULU to our Color Guard and 

Drummer Rick for coming out in the heat, 

and participating in the 4th of July Parade 

in Ralston. It was HOT! It was so hot, 

firecrackers were lighting themselves. That’s 

how hot it was. 

PLAN FOR THE MAN: August 4th is our 

next parade in Carson, IA. Brother Tom Craig 

will chauffer the LOH there in the van which 

will be leaving the Shrine Center at 0800. If 

you need a ride be there on time please. 

CSSA, August 8th, Cedar Rapids, IA. 

Great town, friendly people, sure to be a great 

long weekend get-away. Schedule of events 

is on the CSSA web site. Wednesday night, 

August 8th, Tangier LOH dinner is at the Ox 

Yoke Inn, 4420 220th Trail, Amana, Iowa. 

That’s about a 30 minute drive from the hotel 

and a great place to eat. Thursday is a busy 

day for us. All of our events and activities are 

on this day. Friday is open and Saturday the 

big parade. It’s not too late to register; hope 

to see you there. 

September’s meeting is currently set for 

the 4th. Brother Dan Daniels and Lady Faye 

have expressed interest in hosting our annual 

LOH picnic at their home in Bellevue. Still 

working on the logistics, more information 

will be put out at CSSA. 

September 21st, we will hold a POW / MIA 

ceremony at the Shrine Center. If you have 

never been to one, try to make it. You won’t 

forget it. October’s meeting we are planning 

a Flag Retirement ceremony at the Shrine 

Center. Still trying to get a burn permit from 

the city. Wish me luck.

It is hard to imagine that the Club has 

been dark for almost two months. However; 

as this article is being put together we are 

looking anxiously ahead to Thursday, 

August 16, 2012 when again President 

Richard will wrap his gavel and we will 

be underway again for the second half of 

what has already proved to be a great year. 

If you have wondered what MO-RI is all 

about, this would be the evening to stop by 

and see for yourself. Thursday, August 16, 

2012 at the American Legion Club in Blair 

NE, MO-RI will be holding our annual 

Steak Fry with all of the trimmings. Social 

hour begins any time after 6:00 pm and the 

steaks are off the grill and on your plates 

at 7:00 pm. This is truly one of our top 

meetings of the Shrine Year and we are 

encouraging members to invite friends 

and potential Masons. It is a great evening 

of fellowship and fun.

Well hello everybody! Is it really August? 

It’s a busy month for the Unit. We have our 

bus hauling volunteers at the Cox Classic 

Golf Tournament Aug 2nd – 5th, so we will 

miss the Carson Parade. Hopefully Charley, 

one of our newest members, can still find 

refreshments there even though the bus 

isn’t… There is always the world famous 

Hwy 92 watering hole, Charley, if all else 

fails! 

Then it’s time for CSSA. Wow, is that early 

this year! I hear they moved it up because 

there is a football game close by in September. 

I didn’t realize that Iowa football was that big 

of a deal! 

The Millard parade is Aug 25th and we’ll 

be back in for that one. Right after the parade 

is our annual Unit picnic. Thanks to Karleen 

(ok, and Arnie) for allowing us hold it at their 

place again this year. Now if we can just keep 

Kenny from getting into any trouble we’ll be 

good. Hope to see you all there. Remember 

to bring a chair and a game if you would like. 

August is also time for us to get prepared 

for our Annual Big Red Dinners. If you would

Tangier Band

I want to thank the Tangier 

Bandsmen for the fine attendance 

and great performances at our 

Stated Meetings. If you show 

up early, about 6:30 pm, we can play some 

tunes as soon as the chairs and stands are set 

up. Our fellow bandsmen V. Kaye Ramsey, 

Don Kaye, Carl Highman, and Dave Krecek 

continue to recuperate, and we hope to have 

them back full time with the band soon. 

Although the regular 4th Thursday 

Band Practices have been cancelled until 

September, we will continue to play at 

parades, Stated Meetings, impromptu 

events and practices in small groups. In 

addition, various members of the Band will 

continue to entertain at various Homes for 

Seniors. The Band is always looking for 

band instrumentalists. This summer is your 

opportunity to sit down and play with an 

informal, small band group. We will supply 

the music and stands, and maybe even find 

you an instrument, if needed. If you’re

For August: the Famous Tangier Marching 

Band will march in the Carson Parade on 

the 4th of August. A good number of the 

Tangier Bandsmen will join other Temple 

Bandsmen playing as the Central States 

Shrine Association Band on August 9th, 

10th, and 11th in Cedar Rapids, IA. The 

Famous Tangier Marching Band will also 

keep the Color Guard in step during the 

Millard Parade on August 25th.

Parade season gets rolling again with three parades in August and three in September. Along with those will be some 

ticks on the ‘ole odometer as five of them are out of town. Let me thank all of you in advance for hitting the road to 

promote Tangier, Shriners Hospitals for Children and Shriners International. 

Saturday, August 4th we will be in Carson, Iowa for the Carson Rodeo parade. Lineup is 9:30 am on the rodeo 

grounds as in years past with a 10:30 am start. From Highway 92, go north on S. Commercial St. to North Ave. & turn 

left into the grounds. Oasis afterwards will be at the Community Center as usual, hosted by Coral Lodge No. 430. 

Special thanks go out to our Masonic brethren there for the hospitality. 

Then we are off to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for CSSA 2012. The parade is Saturday, August 11th at 9:00 am. The parade 

will be entirely on the Kirkwood Community College campus. As usual, the Provost will line everyone up at the 

hotel and we will caravan as a group to the lineup area. Commander of Units Mark Batchelder and I will know more 

after the Parade Marshal meeting on Thursday and information will be posted in the hospitality room as soon as it’s

Saturday, August 24th is the Millard Days parade with lineup at 10:00 am with an 11:00 am start time. We are in our 

usual location on S. 131st St. by Western Bowl. Oasis afterwards will be back at Tangier. 

September has us on the road to Schulyer on Monday the 3rd (Labor Day), Plattsmouth on Saturday the 8th, and we 

wrap up the parade season on Saturday the 15th in Nebraska City.

options besides the Hot Sands - which for publishing/production reasons is outdated by time you read it. Check our 

website www.tangiershrine.com or www.tangieronline.org and click on the Parades tab on the left side of the screen.

hallway outside and inside the Lounge. I would ask, however, that these copies stay at Tangier and are put back when

News From The Nebraska Masonic Home 

Residents and staff alike are excited about the construction/ 

renovation project that is in progress at the Nebraska Masonic 

Home. The $6.4 million project is scheduled for completion 

by year’s end. Included in this project is the renovation of the 

1924 Wing into six 820 sq. ft., two bedroom, two bathroom 

apartments, and three 657 sq. ft., one bedroom, one bathroom 

apartments. A 10,700 sq. ft. addition to the Spencer Wing will 

include new dining/activity rooms for the second and third 

floors. 

The Nebraska Masonic Home continues to offer a full continuum 

of health care for assisted living, 24-hour nursing care, and 

Alzheimer’s/dementia special care for eligible Masons and their
