On Tuesday 27th March, the
conference will be opened by
Intertanko chairman Stephen van
Dyck and his keynote speakers
will be the USCG's commandant
Admiral Thad Allen and the
executive director of the Port of
Houston.
In the afternoon, a more
commercial tone will be adopted
chaired by Basil Mavroleon,
managing director of shipbrokers
Charles R Weber and a member of
Intertanko's associate committee.
Speakers will include EA Gibson's
Steve Christy, Braemar Seascope's
Colin Cridland, Inge Steensland's
Tina Gilje, McQuilling Services
David Saginaw and Trans-Energy
Research Associates' Nancy
Yamaguchi.
On Wednesday 28th March, the
talk turns to the Poseidon

ITF, representing the seafarers; a
cargo representative; the
executive director of the Port of
Houston, who is also the
president of IAPH, representing
the ports; Don Toenshoff of
Marine Spill Response and
representatives of both pilots and
the finance sector.
The procedures end with a gala
dinner, sponsored by OSG,
General Maritime and the
Marshall Islands Registry (IRI).
A separate event takes place on
Thursday 29th March, which
takes the form of an International
Seminar on Tanker Chartering - A
Legal Perspective.
